Today’s cartoon poster once again is for the wrestling fans out there. I know many of my regular readers aren’t into wrestling but as I have said before I find it funny that people will trace my poster images and I will see them on live WWE events in the crowd. Now if only the WWE would start paying me to put my work on their tshirts. Well, let’s see if my mocking name I titled this will catch on as well.
The three men you see in the image above are three wrestlers. Heath Slater, Drew McIntyre, and Jinder Mahal. Collectively they are known in the WWE as 3MB (short for three man band). I prefer the new name I came up with “Ginger Mac-Hal” which plays on Jinder Mahal’s name.
This actually took me longer than I thought it would in my head. Trying to capture someone’s likeness without their face is tough.
Here they are in image shots from wwe.com for comparison.
For any wrestling fans that want my image as a wallpaper, contact me or comment on the size you would like and I’ll try to make it happen.
Oh and shout out to TK for his great tutorials and images which I used for the background of the poster.
You did a great job on these three goons, Bearman! 🙂
I knew you would appreciate it. Thanks Deb
I knew that Deb would love these three she is a
BIG WRESTLING FAN and adores anything to do with it 🙂
Your cartoon is excellent by the way, but the I know
how brilliant an artist you are so I am not surprised
in the least 🙂 Okay just leave the chocolate cakes in
the usual place 🙂
Have a wicked day and evening Bearman 🙂
What happened to your new site?
Massive Zombie infection.
That’s what I am thinking
No, no, this works fine. I like that you left the faces off. Now I can draw them in. Fun! Good job. Have a cookie.
I want to see what you come up with
You are very talented, but I’ve known that for a very long time.
Have a terrific day. 🙂
thx sandee
I was gonna draw Bearman but after all the compliments on this his head will be too big for my computer.
I don’t know diddly about rasslin’ anymore. I lost interest when they came up with all the WW-whatevers. What does the W stand for anyway? There ain’t no w in Rasslin’.
This is good but I’m kinda missin’ the Kangaroo.
World Wrestling Entertainment. They used to be WWF but the World Wildlife Fund sued them to stop using WWF.
What? No Rowdy Roddy Piper or George the Animal Steele?…. or that guy who used to put rubber bands in his beard?
George the Animal is one of my all time favorite wrestlers…esp knowing he was a college professor.
while not personally a WWE fan, I love your renaming style!! And the caricatures are AWESOME as well… how can the WWE NOT recognize the quality of your work!?!?!? Their loss!!! (I know, yours too, but persistence will pay off!!)
🙂
It’s still kind of funny seeing my work being held up in arenas. Though I though my John Cena would have got more mileage.
What a bunch of pretty boys. Your cartoon looks better than the real thing. Plus you turned them from wrestlers into Air Guitar Heroes
I should have pointed that out…they are air guitar experts
Huh? Does wrestling still exist?
Only for Deb and me.
I think you should try out for the WWE. Bearman would be a great character, and you’ve already got the green hair trademark.
But what if they start calling me the jolly green giant?
Think of the potential sponsorship deal!
oooh always thinking.
I haven’t really watched wrestling (or rasslin’ as we used to call it) much since the late 80’s, and I haven’t heard of these three gents before either. I think you did a nifty job of capturing their essence even without facial features.
I’m sure there are a million or so WWE fans who would love to get their hands on your drawing or placard.
You tell them all to keep their hands OFF my placard.
LOL. That sounds like a typical conversation between my son and me. Anytime a big word is used we twist the meaning.
I can turn any conversation to a debased level.
I used to live in debasement at my mama’s house when I got outta college.
Moved right out of there to the basement of your wife’s house.
Good cartoon.
I can safely say that as a recovering pro wrestling (started watching in the mid 70’s) I’m not missing much.
Well maybe it is time to fall off the wagon.
Looks awesome, Bearman…
I think the combination of the sunburst / texture and how you’ve rendered your figures creates a pretty sweet illusion of depth… nice!
That’s kind of a show-off move they’ve got there though… one guy with a really l-o-n-g leg and a sweep-kick… could be trouble.
🙂
That is there air guitar move. But it only seems to happen on occasion when they actually win.
Coming soon to a WWE crowd near you! Great design, Bearman!
Thanks Mark
Nice. So where do you see the images on TV, are they on posters or T-shirts? Don’t you have a store that you could sell them at and make some money.
No. It is a gray legal area but I don’t feel right trying to sell someone elses image even if it is a spoof. I know I should get over it but I don’t.
Demand royalties! I checked out some pro wrestling recently, and was surprised to see a lot of the characters from over a decade ago. I figured by now they would have thrown their backs out.
I haven’t watched wrestling regularly since the early 2000’s. All my favorites kept croaking in their early 30’s.
At one time I wanted to be a pro wrestler but I would have croaked a couple of years ago. 🙁
Must be your addictive personality
I like the idea of your work being added to WWE T Shirts. They are fun to look at and incredibly stylish. And the payout should be good too 🙂
Thanks Gray!
I have no idea what it means. I like them better faceless. Let me stop there before that thought goes somewhere really wrong.
haha too late!!
