Look at me posting three times in a week. Had a quick 30 minutes to pull this off but had to put my two cents in on Ben Affleck formerly known as half of Bennifer and now known as Batfleck being announced in the role of Batman in the next Superman movie. I have no issues with Ben as an actor and actually enjoyed him in Daredevil even though the critics and box office did not.. But with superhero roles being so rare, I kind of feel that if you had your chance as one, then someone else should get a turn.
You listening Ryan Reynolds? Any other actors you know played multiple heroes in different movies?
I’ve been shocked by the freak out over the announcement.
It is amazing.
The name is familiar but I could walk past Ben and not know who he was. We just don’t watch television or the movies.
Have a terrific day. 🙂
Thanks Sandee. Good Will Hunting??
Sounds like people are protesting with the same outrage that came when Michael Keaton was announced in ’89. I’m gonna give Ben the benefit of the doubt and hope he doesn’t Affleck it all up.
Me too…and I loved Keaton.
Oddly enough, Keaton looked just crazy enough to pull off the insanity that has to coursing thru Bruce Wayne’s mind.
By the way, I would to see you draw a series of various superheroes in your own unique Bearman style. That would be cool.
You are like my wife. You come up with ideas that make me do more work.
I don’t know the movie, but I’m sure he did fine.
I do know that you did a great job on this comic. Especially since you did it in 30 minutes.
It doesn’t get much better if I spend 2 hours on it.
Eventually all super heroes will be played by robot drones.
Great cartoon! My husband worked on the toy line in the 90s around the time of Batman and Robin with George (now a Sondheim musical). Curious what twitter would have said about that movie if it had been around then.
Now a sondheim musical?? WHAT?
It might have actually made less money if twitter were around.
OK, but I want to know when the Bearman movie will be out and who will play you, Bearman?
🙂
Good question. I am thinking Adam Sandler.
Good answer!
🙂
I’m fighting the urge to bat-urp!
Keep it down, keep it down
I’m keeping my mouth shut, but I like your drawing Bearman.
This is a safe place…spill it.
Ben doesn’t seem like the obvious choice…BUT, I haven’t seen the film yet. That is all. 😉
Like always, Hollywood gives all the prime rolls to a very select few. I’m sure there are many unknown actors who would be great as Batman. And I could play his sidekick, Wombatman.
hahah…that would be a great movie.
Doesn’t he have a low crotch and bow legs? Hmm, I think he does ….

Sheez, they might as well make Seth Green Batman
Seth Green as the Joker would be great. Quit laughing about my height.
Hey Bearman, it would be much more fun to play ….see what happens to actors who play a superhero. Me first ….
Toby Macquire : Spiderman to Seabiscuit
Adam West : Batman to The Happy Hooker Goes Hollywood
Lynda Carter : Wonder Woman to guest appearance on the Muppet Show
Sam J. Jones : Flash Gordon to umm?
The fact that you know the name of the guy who played Flash puts you way ahead of me.
I hate Ben Affleck he has this stupid nose blocked face and after this no kid will ever buy a batman costume, horrible,
Tell us how you really feel
I think Danny Devito should get a go at playing batman. I don’t know why I think that but I think it would make it more interesting
See, now I would go see that. Danny Devito bwahahahahahahaahaha. He couldn’t even reach the Batmobile’s excelerator .
Or the “accelerator” hahah
YES! That would be MY kind of Batman movie. I’m sick of the dark, dreary, depressing setting of the current series.
Batman & Robin starring Danny Devito as Batman & Arnold Schwarzenegger as Robin. Even their Mothers couldn’t tell them apart.
Danny and Arnold both had their shots in Batman movies. Moving on. haha
Chris Evans — The current Captain America also played the Fantastic Four’s Human Torch in both of the Fantastic Four movies.
Halle Berry — Both Storm of the X-Men and Catwoman (in a movie many would like to forget)
Kirk Alyn — Superman and BlackHawk
Also, Affleck played George Reeves in “Hollywoodland.”
And not quite superheroes, but speaking of George Reeves — Superman himself also played Jesse James, Buffalo Bill Cody, and Sir Galahad.
Chris Evans was the one I was trying to remember. And of course Halle Berry. Another one I didn’t hate her in it…I just think the script needed some work.
This was the main topic of conversation in the shop all day, and the outrage is VERY real. I’m taking a “wait and see” attitude, sort of like I did when they announced Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. (get a drunk to play a drunk. GENIUS!)
Once the news is no longer fresh, it should calm down. I would also like to echo George Ford’s request of you doing various superheroes.
I can only imagine what was discussed there. haha. First George, now you!! You keep telling me to make something sellable….guess you didn’t like my Rampage Cincinnati and want to sell some stretched canvas pieces in the shop? hahah

Did you see what Richard Dreyfuss tweeted? I’ll try and embed it here:
Dreyfuss must be reading for a bunch of roles he hasn’t gotten lately.
I probably won’t watch it. I haven’t seen Batman movies since Keaton’s. It’s become too dark and gritty for my liking. There’s too much doom and gloom in real life and then for me to pay to see a movie like that. No thanks.
I prefer the funny Batman of the 70’s TV show. Bright, cheery and in full blast color. I guess that’s why my comic is so technicolor.
I have enjoyed the latest series but I also enjoy the campiness of previous renditions.
As long as it’s better than Gigli, I MIGHT check it out.
Guaranteed
Personally, I’d like to see Justin Timberlake as Batman. Oh, and it’s a musical too.
Now that would be a new take.
I don’t care. I guess…
But I do care when it comes to JAMES BOND! I hate Daniel Craig as Agent 007.
Ahhhh… I really do. I’m probably crazy but to me RobbiE Williams, the singer, would have been perfect for this role. lol
Love the cartoon btw, Bearman.
Daniel Craig is perfect for the role.
Robbie may have been okay. Can he even act though?
Cha…I think Craig has been great in the role even though I had no idea who he was before.
Robbie…isn’t he the guy that is huge in Australia but not so much in the US.
No, he hasn’t been great AT ALL. Je le répète: Daniel Craig is not a good James Bond. lol
Robbie is huge in Europe. Australia… maybe. but in Europe, everyone knows and loves his songs.
But how does that translate to a good James Bond?
No sorry, Dave!! I have to disagree! lol He’s not perfect AT ALL for the role. Booooh.
First I think he’s really not attractive. He could have been perfect for Rambo but not for James Bond.
So sorry. 😀
Robbie is an entertainer and I think it’s in his blood. (okay I’m a big fan ahahah but still. he’s really good in his video clips).
haha…is this a rally of one cha??
Most of the people I know from the movies are already dead. (I don’t spend much time in theaters) I have heard of Ben Afleck and I have heard of Batman so I guess they both have something in common.)
I do like the idea of Danny DeVito as Batman. I really think all movies should be comedies.
BTW
I wrote something in answer to your comment on my Hospital Humor that you might want to read.
I hope you don’t use it for a long time though.
Awesome tombstone.
You want comedy, have Chris Rock as Batman and Rob Schneider as the penguin.
I thought of Chris Rock…but I try not to.
I think Eddie Murphy would make a great Batman and the dude on Price Is Right (can’t think of his name) for the Penguin.
Glad you liked your Epitaph. Maybe I have a future as a Tombstone writer.
haha Drew Carey as the Penguin would be great.
I love the huge jaw you gave Ben. Great job! 😀
He HAS a huge Jaw. haha
So this is a Ha-va-d bat-cave, huh? I thought there’d be equations and **** on the wall.
🙂
Nope just bat dung
You are a thirty minute genius Bearman
this one is absolutely brilliant, though how
can they even think of Ben Affleck? 🙁 🙁
Anyway he could be good, or just plain hopeless 🙁 lol
At least we have your expertise in
cartooning to enjoy so that’s one thing 🙂
Have a fine rest of Monday Bearman and keep up the great work…
Thirty minute genius sounds good for cartooning…not sure about personally.
My son and I sat around the other night thinking of who should be the next Batman. My favorite suggestion was Steve Buscemi! That would be freaking hilarious! 🙂
Well he made a dark turn in Boardwalk Empire
I have high hopes. It should be an epic movie.
Let’s hope!!!
I’ve never understood the rages that people go through about actors. Maybe that’s because I prefer animated movies, preferably 2D-types. Although recently we’ve been watching some hilarious Dungeons and Dragons inspired flicks on YouTube.
But yeah, the sturm und drang over a director’s choice of actor for a comic book character on Twitter made me turn it off for a couple of days.
I am sure there are controversies in the voice actors of animated works too. Just can’t think of one off the top of my head.
Neither can I, and I am with Jande and Bo on this one.
I don’t really get the flap over him being Batman… I suppose it could be worse… they could cast Michael Keaton as Batman!
Great one Bearman!
Thanks!
I’m reserving judgment until I’ve seen the movie. I hope he does justice to Batman doing justice.
