It is always good to have goal in mind. Might never make it happen but it’s the thought that counts.

  2. George says:

Oh, that is friggin’ genius! Your innovative concepts are giving the “bigger name” political/editorial cartoonists a run for their money. I am truly impressed. ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. Binky says:

    Sadly, very true.
Good cartoon on a bad subject.

    • Bearman says:

Thanks. I don’t know if it was a good cartoon. It looks like I lost a facebook fan today. haha

      • Colleen says:

He was probably a covert Qaddaffi supporter, who needs him/her? Besides those facebook fan counts are notoriously inaccurate!

That’s what I mean about not really “loving his country” or “being one of his people” cuz he’s willing to sacrifice too many of them for what? himself? I thought he might be ousted by now.

You should have had him holding the little Libya guy as a shield in front of an oncoming tank for a more martyrific experience.

  4. lisleman says:

did you happen to see the google logo today? It was about Will Eisner who I had never heard of before. He was a famous comic writer and artist. You probably know of him.
Good political cartoon. I think the guy is insane because any reasonable dictator (oxymoron?) would have just escaped and gone into hiding.

  5. Dan says:

His statements always remind me of Comical Ali from the – second, was it? – Iraq war.

  6. nursemyra says:

    good cartoon bearman

  7. Friggin Loon says:

Hmm, since when has Gaddafi worn a simple brown dress Bearman? Think Sex and the City and Jimmy Choo!!!!!

  8. G says:

I’m sure his plan is to “die” like Jim Jones, but someone will assuredly make sure that he actually dies like Jim Jones.

And I’m sure that someone will make his nitwit sons go away like Saddam’s.

  9. Sad but true. It really is a shame that this kind of still is still going on.

  10. DadaHyena says:

No wise ass remarks from me. This is awesome.

  11. MJ says:

This whole uprising thing is getting out of hand. Ha,ha,ha!

  12. Bo Lumpkin says:

I wonder how people can be that crazy and live as long as he has. Of course I wonder about a lot of things.

  13. Awesome work, Bearman.
If Libya wasn’t around Muammar would probably dig up a gag ‘bang-flag’ gun. ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. Nate Fakes says:

Nice! Martyrs really just need to go to McDonalds and buy a Happy Meal. I think they would fine that much more enjoyable.

  15. Nice take on another insane statement from Gaddafi. You captured the absurdness of his statement perfectly.

  16. Beth Cravens says:

Good cartoon! I wonder who he thinks he’ll dictate to when he’s killed off all his people.

  17. right??

ugh. so sick of all these dictatorytyranttypes.

can’t we all get along? come on middle east. throw each other a bone.

  18. Jillsy Girl says:

Isn’t that the normal way it goes with martyrs?

  19. Gav says:

    Great imagery Bearman! Very powerful

  20. Duncanr says:

    Great toon, Bearman

I wonder though how much of Gaddafi’s avowed intent to fight to the last bullet before giving way to the people’s wish for more control over their own lives is his own decision and how much of it is the result of his sons wishes.

After all, he is an old man with plenty of loot stashed away. Why not just decamp to Venezuela and spend his last remaining years in pleasant luxury with no worries or cares about governing a troublesome nation?

If I was in his shoes, I would. Wouldn’t you?

But where would that leave his sons? Still relatively young and brought up to accept power and wealth as their right, they have more to lose if the anti-Gaddafi rebels succeed in ousting their father from power than does he. Personally, I think the sons rather than the father are orchestrating the violent assaults against the protestors !!!

    • Bearman says:

If my sons want the power they can fight for it themselves. I would take a bullet to protect them but not one to get them a job they didn’t earn.

  21. Tony McGurk says:

Funny but sadly so true. That’s a nice brown frock he’s wearing…

  22. Lynn says:

This is an EPIC toon Bearman!! I’ve followed you a lot and I say this is your best work – ever! I can’t tell you how great i think this is… Well done!

  23. nice one. You’ve really captured the feakyness of his face

  24. writerdood says:

Nice job Bearman. This is a pretty good political cartoon.

  25. Dr. Cynicism says:

Your pic of Gaddafi looks more realistic than his ACTUAL photo.

  26. WannabeHero says:

Another great piece… Love your Gaddafi…er… that’s sounds a bit weird. Maybe I should go with ‘I think your Gaddafi drawing is awesome’. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  27. Hi, Bear. Sorry I haven’t been by in awhile, but what a perfect time to come back! I love this one. This definitely falls under the ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’ category. This says it all and is perfect (I think). Well done.
