Gaddafi claims he will go out a martyr.ย Too bad he has put the people of Libya in the way of someone fulfilling his “destiny”.

It is always good to have goal in mind. Might never make it happen but it’s the thought that counts.
I have never been so good at setting goals.
Oh, that is friggin’ genius! Your innovative concepts are giving the “bigger name” political/editorial cartoonists a run for their money. I am truly impressed. ๐
I agree George, Bearmnan out did himself on this one. Love it!
I thought I already was the biggest name in editorial cartoons. But then again the least paid
Sadly, very true.
Good cartoon on a bad subject.
Thanks. I don’t know if it was a good cartoon. It looks like I lost a facebook fan today. haha
He was probably a covert Qaddaffi supporter, who needs him/her? Besides those facebook fan counts are notoriously inaccurate!
That’s what I mean about not really “loving his country” or “being one of his people” cuz he’s willing to sacrifice too many of them for what? himself? I thought he might be ousted by now.
You should have had him holding the little Libya guy as a shield in front of an oncoming tank for a more martyrific experience.
You are right. I think I have 1000 facebook fans but it only shows 156 haha.
Where were you when I was thinking of this image..haha
oh but aren’t you the one who hates to draw vehicles?
Yes I am…never mind.
did you happen to see the google logo today? It was about Will Eisner who I had never heard of before. He was a famous comic writer and artist. You probably know of him.
Good political cartoon. I think the guy is insane because any reasonable dictator (oxymoron?) would have just escaped and gone into hiding.
I know the name and that there is an award named after him but I haven’t discovered his work too much.
His statements always remind me of Comical Ali from the – second, was it? – Iraq war.
I didn’t know Muhammed Ali was a comic.
good cartoon bearman
Thanks Myra
Hmm, since when has Gaddafi worn a simple brown dress Bearman? Think Sex and the City and Jimmy Choo!!!!!
I couldn’t find a filter in photoshop to make it more granny quilt like.
Or a Michael Jackson filter

If only ghaddafi could sing.
I’m sure his plan is to “die” like Jim Jones, but someone will assuredly make sure that he actually dies like Jim Jones.
And I’m sure that someone will make his nitwit sons go away like Saddam’s.
That is true. I wonder how many people are no longer going by the “Hussein” name.
Sad but true. It really is a shame that this kind of still is still going on.
True. I think he likes being relevant again which is even sadder.
I can’t disagree with you on that.
When have you been able to disagree with me..haha
No wise ass remarks from me. This is awesome.
Thanks Aidan.
This whole uprising thing is getting out of hand. Ha,ha,ha!
Especially in the US.
I wonder how people can be that crazy and live as long as he has. Of course I wonder about a lot of things.
Thus begat the wisdom of bo
Awesome work, Bearman.
If Libya wasn’t around Muammar would probably dig up a gag ‘bang-flag’ gun. ๐
Someone should switch his gag one for the real one.
Maybe we should send in Charlie Sheen?!
Not sure why… just sounds like fun. ๐
They both are having delusions…maybe they can talk each other off the ledge.
Nice! Martyrs really just need to go to McDonalds and buy a Happy Meal. I think they would fine that much more enjoyable.
Happy Meals always make me feel better…unless they run out of prizes and then I am enraged.
Nice take on another insane statement from Gaddafi. You captured the absurdness of his statement perfectly.
Thanks Frank.
Good cartoon! I wonder who he thinks he’ll dictate to when he’s killed off all his people.
All the guys he is paying to kill his people.
right??
ugh. so sick of all these dictatorytyranttypes.
can’t we all get along? come on middle east. throw each other a bone.
Just not a stone.
bahahahahahah.
I’m so witty!!
Isn’t that the normal way it goes with martyrs?
Sadly…or they blow themselves and a bunch of people up at the same time.
Great imagery Bearman! Very powerful
Thanks Gav.
Great toon, Bearman
I wonder though how much of Gaddafi’s avowed intent to fight to the last bullet before giving way to the people’s wish for more control over their own lives is his own decision and how much of it is the result of his sons wishes.
After all, he is an old man with plenty of loot stashed away. Why not just decamp to Venezuela and spend his last remaining years in pleasant luxury with no worries or cares about governing a troublesome nation?
If I was in his shoes, I would. Wouldn’t you?
But where would that leave his sons? Still relatively young and brought up to accept power and wealth as their right, they have more to lose if the anti-Gaddafi rebels succeed in ousting their father from power than does he. Personally, I think the sons rather than the father are orchestrating the violent assaults against the protestors !!!
If my sons want the power they can fight for it themselves. I would take a bullet to protect them but not one to get them a job they didn’t earn.
Funny but sadly so true. That’s a nice brown frock he’s wearing…
It is close to the one he wore when he made those comments.
This is an EPIC toon Bearman!! I’ve followed you a lot and I say this is your best work – ever! I can’t tell you how great i think this is… Well done!
Thanks so much Lynn. For someone who has been here since almost the beginning that means alot.
nice one. You’ve really captured the feakyness of his face
Hopefully the “freakiness” too.haha
Nice job Bearman. This is a pretty good political cartoon.
As opposed to my other ones?? haha Thanks
Your pic of Gaddafi looks more realistic than his ACTUAL photo.
Well I tend to be more animated.
Another great piece… Love your Gaddafi…er… that’s sounds a bit weird. Maybe I should go with ‘I think your Gaddafi drawing is awesome’. ๐
Thanks. You can love my Gaddafi, or is it Gadhafi. I wish people would make up their minds.
I actually think I like your spelling of ‘Gad-daffy’ over Gaddafi or Gadhafi. ๐
Glad someone pays attention to my titles. Haha
Hi, Bear. Sorry I haven’t been by in awhile, but what a perfect time to come back! I love this one. This definitely falls under the ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’ category. This says it all and is perfect (I think). Well done.
Thanks J. Good to see you back over here.
