March 17 marks the celebration of St Patrick’s Day. So to celebrate, I thought I would finally work on my St. Paddy’s t-shirt design that has been running in my head. Gone are my green beer days and feeling the need to stand in a crowd of 400 in a bar that usually holds 20. I guess when you are single, these things are more tempting.
Astute readers will notice something that I purposefully did wrong in my design. Can you point it out??
Do you celebrate the holiday and if so what do you do??
You left some beer in his glass?
Tell me, or I won’t be able to sleep tonight! (I’m not kidding.)
See Sheila’s answer!!
Four-leafed clover? I like it.
Righto! Shamrock has 3 clovers but I thought I would go for a little luck and do the four leaf clover.
His shirt appears to be yellow near the lapels, but at the cuff it’s white.
haha…that is just the cuff of his jacket it’s not his shirt. See above!!
Another excuse to drink…cheers ๐
I thought any day of the week that ended in “day” was a good excuse for you to drink.
Any day AND anytime ๐
I really like this design, Bearman. Maybe it’s the vibrant colors. ๐
My guess was that his mug needed refilling badly, but I see that wasn’t it.
An empty beer mug definitely is an issue. haha
I will mix green food coloring into the pancake batter and make green pancakes for my kids. and then we make shamrock shaped cookies when they come home from school. But other than that we do nothing special.
Nothing special. My mom never made me green pancakes. Hope you are a good cook or they might be puking up something green later.
That sounds pretty special to me midwestmom
I know…least she could do is send us some cookies.
i wouldve said the beer glass is nearly empty. a true irish man wouldve got a new beer by now lol
haha…well you can only repour so fast.
great design! we’re having corned beef and cabbage tonight in celebration. I’ll also wear something green!
I remember in HS, kids would look down on you if you forgot to wear green. I would just tell them I was wearing green underwear.
Did anyone try to give you a wedgie to find out if you were telling the truth?
Well maybe they didn’t start the day green.
Ewwwww
so i rish to have another is yours? cool, i love it! i didnt notice the 4 leaf clover until you mentioned it. guess the luck of the irish will be with you today! happy st patrick’s day bearman!
I can’t say it is mine but I have never seen or heard anyone else use it. But I’ll sue for copyright infringement anyway..haha
whoo-hoo!! now that’s the irish spirit!
Damn skippy.
Nice!
Just got back into town from Kansas, so I’m off for some kegs n’ eggs very soon!
Ahhh…kegs n eggs. I remember the days I didn’t have responsibility during the work week..haha
I’m not Irish and I don’t drink so this is just another one of “those” days for me.
You done real good on yer drawin’ though.
For all my talk, I am not a big drinker either. haha
Liar, liar green undies on fire!
Well I did have 2 beers tonight..haha But that is my first drink in 2 weeks.
The only thing wrong with the shirt is that I’m not wearing it at a bar right now . . .
The real shame is that I still haven’t seen you order one for next year.
I celebrate by thanking my poor grandmother for taking a chance on that lone broke a$$ Irishman I have to call Granda. “Happy Saint Paddy’s Papa!”
Happy St Paddys Day PAPA!!! Now don’t forget me on my birthday.
Now THATS clever!! Thats why you have merchandise and I don’t! You have the knack!!
Got to do something when I don’t have loveable characters that people want a plushie of like you do.
Finally, a motto I can take to heart.
Well cheers to you!!
Great design. I saw Sheila’s answer but wouldn’t have ever picked it. I only noticed that his glass wasn’t full enough
But was it almost empty or just not yet refilled? Optimist or Pessimist?
It had been enjoyed to the max & he was awaiting a refill, see how optimistic I can be.
However…
Pessimists are less often disappointed when things go wrong because they expected the worst anyway…
But, if something does go right for them it’s an unexpected bonus
Exactly…that is while I will remain optimistically pessimistic.
Four leave clovers seem normal to me. We used to look for them in a field near my house and they were everywhere. In fact, it was hard to find a three leaf clover there.
Anyway, I normally celebrate St. Patty’s day by getting completely trashed on green beer. But today I forget to even where something green. I hope my kids remembered. School sucks when you don’t wear green. Of course, half my son’s shirts are green anyway, so he’s got a fifty fifty chance of being okay.
Four leaf clovers are Rare here. I think the typical st paddys day clover is 3 (aka shamrock). Something to do with St Patrick using it to teach the trinity or something like that.
It was the clover? I was thinking it was the “I-rish” :S
Look who made it in. Guess your browser is working!!
Before I met my wife I had never even seen a real 4 leaf clover (despite having spent the majority of my youth and well beyond looking for one). Annabelle finds one just about every other day though. She doesn’t even have to try. I don’t get it. As usual. ๐
Probably because you grew up in a corn field and now live by a meadow.
I don’t know about a corn field, but plenty of people have asked me if I was raised in a barn! ๐
