Editorial Cartoon: Social Media and Cats

And the Caption Contest Winner is – ME!! And all of you who agreed with me that cats getting attention on social media is the bane of existence for someone posting something they actually spent time on.

And the inspiration was this picture of our cats, playing on the ipad with their favorite app Games for Cats.

  • Bald Men and Cleavage

    Bald Men and Cleavage Cartoon

Today’s cartoon is not, I repeat NOT based on my life.  I have a full head of green hair.  Rather it was told to me by a friend who luckily has the kind of head that can pull off baldness.

I was out with the friend who told me this last night and was telling him I was going to post it.  My wife said “Well Bearman doesn’t check out women’s boobs.”   I replied “Well I guess I am sly enough that YOU don’t notice”

  • Editorial Cartoon: Mitt Romney turns 65

Editorial Cartoon: Mitt Romney Turns 65

Former Governor and current GOP Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney turned 65 this week proclaiming that he would not enroll for Social Security payments or Medicare.

For those unfamiliar, AARP is an organization in the States that has huge interest group focusing on those above 50 on age related issues.  It was formerly known as the American Association of Retired Persons.  Historically in the U.S. the retirement age has been 65 though you can get your AARP card which offers discounts on travel, restaurants etc long before that age.  In fact I knew a 30 year old once who had her card.  I guess all you need to do is send in your money and boom, there it is.

Oh and Denny’s is a national chain of restaurants that specializes in breakfast food.

  • Tori Spelling Caricature

The Friggin Loon and BSchooled both are tired of my WWE Wrestling Caricatures so they put in a request for a Tori Spelling one.  Here you go ladies.

I won’t be around much for the next week after today so I’ll miss commenting elsewhere and probably here too.  Try to behave without me.

  • John Cena Sign Fruity Pebbles

Let’s see if WWE Wrestling fans start trying to redraw my John Cena caricature on signs all over WWE live events as they have my Sheamus sign.  All I ask is that you make sure my URL is front and center.

For you non wrestling fans, John Cena is in a feud as of late with former WWE wrestler and now movie star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.  The Rock made fun of the fact that each year Cena has a different brightly colored shirt that he hocks to his fans.  Thus started an entire Fruity Pebbles chant. Lo and behold, Post cereal took full advantage of the publicity and quickly signed the popular Cena to an endorsement deal, even putting his face on a box of Fruity Pebbles.

Oh and don’t forget to check out my guest cartoon I did at Short Attention Span comic.

  • Editorial Cartoon: Frankenweenie

    Bearman Cartoons Frankenweenie

Tim Burton is remaking Frankenweenie.  Frankenweenie was originally a  short film that he did in 1984.  Well he is updating it to a full length feature film.

    Image: Wired Magazine

I am sorry but that has to be the most unfortunate name for a movie.  Somehow I would have thought that an adult film would be named that.

  • Sara Mena draws Bearman Cartoons

One of my new friends I found on Google Plus is Illustrator Sara Mena.  She is one of those artists whose work I am constantly in awe of.  Her line work and coloring is just amazing.

The other day she posted that she was heading to CARNAVAL (for the uninformed it is like Mardi Gras but in Brazil and way more out there).  Joking as if I read it as if she were going to the “carnival”, I asked her to bring me back some Cotton Candy.  So a few days later to my amazement this image popped up in my stream.

You can follow Sara on Google Plus or Twitter.

Also this week I did a guest cartoon for QuarterBar where I did a mash up of one of his photos and added my cartoon touch to it.  Check it out here.

  • Internet Troll Cartoon

    Internet Troll by Bearman Cartoons

Ah the lovely internet troll. Anyone that blogs or posts regularly somewhere online has run across this person at least once. Some of you probably ARE the troll. I don’t judge. haha. So give us your best troll story.

This is kind of a search engine experiment. Last year I posted a sign of the wrestler Sheamus. Today if you do a google image search of “Sheamus Sign“, guess whose image pops up first?  So while there are cartoons of internet trolls, it would be interesting to see if I could get this one to page one.  There are a couple other phrases that people use to find my site so I may do cartoons of those in the future.  Any you would like to see?
