  1. Newspapers do totally need to figure something out, and honestly I so have a solution, but I dont want to share it, but I think they need to work outside the box!!!

    • That’s not fair. You can’t say you have the answer it and not patent it and sell it to the highest bidder.

      • ok here you go. Do you remember, WAY back in the day when you didn’t actually own your phone, but rather rented it from the phone company.

Now imagine if you will, a group of news papers getting together, and putting together a service where we all may get a kind of Kindel like device, for practically nothing and form there the newspapers would be uploaded onto it every morning, and there would be your paper.

This would be a cost effective model, the news papers would more than make back any money they may loose in supplying the machines by cutting out printing cost and keeping their subscription prices the same. Sense the machine would basically be free to consumers, this would mean that there would be no place for complaints to the continuing of ads being run on this machine.

And if you really want to get crazy, something like amazon could get into the act and then sell downloadable books onto the thing, and offer the price of them to the newspapers for a more discounted price.

while this is not without it’s problems, I have honestly yet to hear anything that makes as much sense to me.

  2. Not just newspapers. So many canned/packet/bottled products have reduced their contents but not the price. I remember most canned vegetables used to be 440 grams now most are only 400 grams yet we still pay the same price. Love the cartoon

  3. spilledinkguy

Dude! It’s just ’cause everybody now goes to beartoons for infotainment! :)

  4. I love the word “infotainment”.

I hate to say it, but I can’t remember the last time I read an actual newspaper. I google everything for free. It’s hard to compete with that.

I do miss the cartoons though. That’s why I come to Bearman as well as the other talented cartoonists I’m branching out to from Bearman.

    Thanks Bearman. :)

  5. Pretty soon their going to have to offer magnifying glasses with the newspaper. The cartoons are the best part of the newspaper.

  6. Nothing beats reading the paper in bed on a Sunday morning…. well, almost nothing….

  7. Somethings gotta be done. ’cause it just don’t feel right sitting on the throne with a laptop in the morning.

  8. I wondered if you could draw girls??? Nice toon.

  9. I don’t know what the newspaper industry is gonna do, but they had better come up with a better solution than slashing jobs.

  10. haha. see? this is why i never got into that newsy stuff.

of course, instead i decided to get into the banky stuff and lost my job anyway. Okay, i forgot where i was going with this.

  11. The papers get smaller and the info less news worthy.

    Nice one!

What do you have to say....
