Pop Smoothie and Zombie Marge Launch
Two Cincinnati Illustrators launched their own webcomics in the last couple months.
Pop Smoothie
Christina Wald who not only is a kick ass illustrator but works tirelessly keeping charge of the Cincinnati Illustrators Blog/Lunches has launched Pop Smoothie.
Each week she will highlight a new comic with inspiration from Pop Culture garnered from her indulgence in too much television.
Zombie Marge
Tim Fuller, another kick ass local illustrator/humor writer has come out with Zombie Marge. Very loosely and probably not at all relating to Marge Schott (though there is a slight undead resemblance). For the uninformed, Marge was the former owner of the Cincinnati Reds who made Ozzy Gullien’s mouth seem like a choir boy in comparison.
Zombie Marge and her sidekick worm Grubworth will take inside what it is like living decaying in Tanglefoot Cemetery.
Finally a special shout out and thanks to Debbie Adams for awarding me with a special Commenter Award.
Matzah Balls Tshirt
Long time readers might recognize the design for “I Got Your Matzah Balls Right Here” because I posted it last year and asked if I should put it on a tshirt. Well guess what. I forgot to do it until now. Available on WackSack.com (I really need to rebrand all that to beartoons but obviously I am lazy).
So run out and get this Passover friendly shirt to show the world you are not happy to forego unleavened bread during the seder. Oh and if you aren’t Jewish…well show some attitude anyway.
Also for those who prefer posts via email you will be happy to know I now have an email subscription thingy on the right thanks to Tony. Also if you want updates on when I reply to your comments that button is now available too.
Editorial Cartoon: Riots
I had a hard time with today’s editorial cartoon. I knew in my head what I wanted it to say and went through many different iterations using cartoon characters and not. You’ll have the be the judge whether my sentiment came through and let me know whether or not you agree. Love to hear all sides on this as always.
Bearman heads to Addanac City
In case you all don’t have George Ford on speed dial, he has decided to bring the Bearman persona over to Addanac City for his latest story arc. Someone has to class the place up (even a guy named Leslie). So if you haven’t already, head over and give George some love.
For the above cartoon in full go here
For the before where BEARMAN enters the picture go here
And for the beginning of the current story arc, go here.
What is that BEARMANiacs? You aren’t familiar with George Ford. Well he is the original BEARMANiac. In fact, last year when I asked people to show me their BEARMANiac best…this is what I got. I hope to god he was wearing pants.
