Don’t know why this came to my head. Didn’t want to do something everyone else has done with memorial to Leonard Nimoy. So what is better than mashing up Oscar the Grouch (Sesame Street) and Mr Spock (Star Trek)? OK honestly it makes no sense but it was fun to draw.

When Liberals Get Desperate
Today’s Editorial Cartoon is Part two of my experiment. Could I use the same image on two different days and on one day annoy conservatives and the next liberals. So today was the liberals turn. For those under a rock this is all I posted yesterday.
So same image. I just pulled out the camera from the closeup on the sign in today’s version. Yes I am poking fun at you my liberal friends. My social media streams have been non stop about what a cruel man Mitt Romney is for wanting to send Big Bird and friends packing. Seriously? This is the biggest thing to come out of the debate that you disagree with?
Everyone complaining that PBS only accounts for $500Million. Yes I get it. In the grand scheme of things that is a pittance. HOWEVER, everyone thinks their project is important no matter how big or small. Guess what? It is the little projects that can add up to big bucks. In my opinion, EVERYTHING is on the table for cutting, reducing or completely overhauling costs. PBS, Defense, Foreign Aid, Medicare…. We can’t continue to cowtow to every special interest or because it is considered politically correct without taking a close look at how to save money in these programs.
What is sad is President Obama’s team jumped on the bandwagon and is running an ad that jumps in the fray. While a funny ad, it is stupid in the grand scheme of things. So stupid that cheers to Sesame Street for asking the President to stop using it’s name and image in a political campaign. See the ad and the response here.

Romney Cuts off Head of Sesame Street
Whoa! What are you doing posting an editorial cartoon on a Tuesday you ask? Well my friends this is a two part experiment. The question in the experiment is can I piss off both my liberal friends and conservative friends using the same cartoon on two different days.
Today’s cartoon might of course irritate some of my more conservative friends. Seems since the debate, candidate Mitt Romney has been taking flack for his assertion during the debates that he would consider cutting funding of PBS, the broadcaster of shows such as Sesame Street. There have been memes galore floating around on social media blasting Mitt for it, but I thought nothing said it better than Mitt Romney holding a knife in one hand and the head of Big Bird in the other.
So how could this possibly irritate my liberal friends? Well you have to wait until tomorrow to find out.

Bearman Cartoon: Sesame Street at 40 (Oscar)
I am working on a few different cartoons to “celebrate” Sesame Street turning 40. Because after 40 everything turns to crap.
Looks like I am not the only one with Sesame Street cartoons this week. Check out Agent-X and Spud Comics for more.
