Today’s cartoon is inspired by our friends at Netflix. Of course when you have vacation time over the holidays you tend to have some quality TV time as well. Don’t get me wrong, Netflix does have some decent things but have you ever tried to search for a movie to watch or something other than Stranger Things/Punisher (two I enjoy)? But it seems they don’t have to put on a ton of great shows because as long as you find something to watch suddenly you forget the hours spent trying to find something to watch.
I have heard tales of people spending 10-15 minutes scrolling to find something to watch. Just like our cartoon desert wanderer looking for a bit of nourishment, it is hard to come by. That’s why when something new finally pops up on the service, the internet seems to react like it is the best thing in the world. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it is a shit sandwich.
With $8 Billion to spend on programming this year I would hope to find a lot more “Bright” spots (which I actually liked and the critics hated) and fewer “Iron Fists”.
What are you watching or not on Netflix??
I rarely watch Netflix since l spend more time looking for a movie than watching one.
And yet they still got you as a subscriber….genius!!
Switching to Amozone
The trick isn’t to switch to Amazon, is to cancel your subscription when you no longer have anything to watch, then re-enable it later when there is new stuff. In the meantime go to Amazon sure, but they have even less stuff, good or bad.
But with Amazon you get free shipping so there is that.
admittedly, ‘Bright’ wasn’t the best movie I ever watched, but I did enjoy it – despite the poor reviews from film critics
I share your pain re finding something to watch – oftimes I’ve spent so long searching for something that appeals to me that I no longer have time to watch the movie before it’s time for me to hit the sack, so I end up watching nothing
Maybe they should just have the insomnia channel, which continually flips through choices so you don’t have to push the buttons
5 minutes ago I typed the same thing into Google but for Amazon Video. I’m going to give Mr. Robot a shot.
Everyone loved that guys acting…I thought it was boring
I’ve now seen 3 episodes. First one was pretty good, 2nd one was just okay, and the third did not appeal to me at all. Not sure if I’m going to give them a 4th try.
Riverdale is watched on my account along with stranger things, kidlets watch these shows , not me
Haven’t tried Riverdale…seems too teenage angst for me
YouTube has all the docs I need.
How many marsupial docs can you watch??
I also find it hard to watch something on Netflix. I find myself scrolling a lot and usually never find anything worthwhile.
You aren’t alone
