Today in the United State we celebrate Thanksgiving and reflect on all the great things in our lives. I know for me being able to share my creative work and have people actually appreciate and comment on that means the world to me.
Someone else that it means the world to is long time commenter and online friend, Bo Lumpkin. Those who follow Bo know that he has a passion for cartooning and more recently jewelry making. I know he appreciates all the comments and visitors to both his sites.

Unfortunately Bo has a bad ticker and once again suffered a heart attack this week and was airlifted to the hospital. On his blog he posted this update the other day.
Yesterday I had a heart cath and they found new damage to my heart and that only the main artery to my heart has remained opened. These arteries have all been bypassed before and there is nothing that can be done for them.
The Doctor who did the dye test and heart cath wasn’t very optomistic at all and seems to think that it could be a matter of days, weeks and at the most a few months before my heart gives out completely. My regular cardiologist is a little more optomistic and seems to think if I am very careful I could hang on for a good bit longer.
In typical Bo fashion he only had a short pity party before being determined to get the most out of life. And that is where I need your help.
In the next week I want to blow up either/both of Bo’s blogs with hits and comments like he has never seen before. Being stuck in the hospital sucks so the more interaction we can give him the better. Please visit his site, share it on your own blogs and share it on Social Media. Let’s find some new visitors for Bo.
I am determined to keep that heart of his ticking because it is going to be pumping with pride.
Thanks
I saw the news on this blog…praying diligently.
Thanks Deb.
Thanks A Bunch.
I visited both his sites. Your wordpress link has the blogger link. Just so you know.
Have a terrific day Bearman. 🙂
Thanks…fixed!!
Oh and Happy Thanksgiving too. 🙂
Thanks Sandee…you too
Seriously sad news Bearman especially at this time of the year. Thoughts and prayers.
Indeed…thanks Loon
I’m a tough old Buzzard loon. My family has been through so many “final” counseling sessions by the doctors that they are pros. The sad thing is that everyone of these type events really upset them.
Well quit having these “events’ you attention monger.
Yes Bo, quit it, no more events, we need you here to keep Bearman’s stats up !!!!
I know…he pretty much increases it by at least 20%
Boy…you’ve gone and done it now Bearman. Your post and the results from it just might have boosted me enough that they are talking about letting me go home tomorrow. (Actually there isn’t much reason to keep me here because I am stable and they have patched all they can patch.) You might get the reputation as a Heart Doctor and it would certainly be deserving because this post…and the results have certainly been good for my heart.
I thank you and appreciate this more than you could ever know. I also appreciate all of you who stopped by and the comments you left. Sometimes they get thrown into an approve folder the first time but after that they will post.
I try to answer them all.
Thanks Bearman for makin’ an old sick Redneck happy.
Bo…sounds like you had as good of a thanksgiving as an old redneck can. Great news that you get to go home. Sucky news that your wife took your keys away. But hey I prefer to let my wife drive anyway so it isn’t so bad.
Keep on fighting!!
Great Thanksgivin’ Bearman. I was pretty tired so I had to stop watchin’ football early.. I went to sleep about 8 last night.
My wife can drive but she hasn’t driven much for years until a few months ago and she started back some.
(They are even threatenin’ to take the keys from my lawn mower and I’m pretty sure when I get home my chainsaw will be hidden.)
I ain’t givin’ up. I actually feel pretty good this mornin’.
Just keep my wife in your thoughts and prayers. She is scared to death to take me home. She likes bein’ here where they are handy if somethin’ does happen.
I will definitely. She has to be a strong woman to put up with you all these years..haha
Many of our friends have nick named her Grace…as in the “Amazing Grace” it takes to put up with me.
I was going to offer my rockets to help blow up Bo’s blogs, but I’m not entirely sure he’s appreciate that.
I think just wishing him the best and letting him know we care about him might be better.
Save the Rockets Binky..When I have finally used it up I want all you Wombies at the cemetery firing Rockets as they lower me down. I might be the first person ever to have Wombat 21 Rocket Salute.
Wombies have to fly in the cargo hold.
A Wombat ‘flyover’ would be awesome.
Although I don’t like to think of that day, we’ll try to give you what you want, Bo.
Usually I fly in the pilot’s seat.
How do you both fit in his pants?
One leg at a time.
Done! You’re a true hero, Bearman!
He definitely is that.
Get well soon and God bless you…
Thank you so much and God has blessed me much more than I ever deserve.
Thanks Maria…and thanks for stopping by
have asked Madhatter readers to visit Bo’s blogs, Bearman – they both said they would 😆
Thanks a bunch. That will double my unique visitor amount today.
I do appreciate all this. It really means a lot to me.
Is that counting me or not counting me?
Counting.
Bo’s perpetual kindness to everyone makes that bad ticker one of the best I know of…
Indeed.
We are all blessed to have you among us, Bo. Although I don’t interact with you much directly, I do keep up with you via your Tweets and comments. You are beloved by a great many and a treasured creator, your enthusiasm is infectious. My very best wishes go out to you and your family.
Thanks Mark.
Thanks Mark. I now have a MiFi wireless card and hope to be able to do more interacting on the net. Looks like I am going to have a lot of computer time because my family has kinda told me that the chainsaws and power tools are off limits for awhile. 🙂 I really appreciate the kind words.
I’m glad to hear that you are at home now, Bo. All of us are in your corner praying, hoping, and rooting for you. You’re one of the toughest dudes I know, so as long as you keep fighting, we’ll be right alongside you swinging too.
Thanks George. I know all you great guys are pullin’ for me. My sister says that when I die they are going to have to take my heart out and beat it to death with a stick. This was a close one and it kinda had me convinced that I had used it up. Thankfully there might be a little left in the bottom of the jug…I just have to shake it out a little at a time. I appreciate you guys for being here for me.
Don’t shake it too hard. No overdoing it.
I’ve had a hectic few weeks with my job hunting & interviews so haven’t been around everyones comics/blogs much. Bo left a comment on my site saying he’d been in hospital but I didn’t realise it was so serious. Heading over his way now to wish him well. He’s a great bloke.
Best of luck on the job search Tony.
Heading off to start my new job in about an hour
That was fast…congrats!
I had the Dairy Job interview last Wednesday & they rang me the next day to say I had the job & to start Monday. That week I’d also had an interview on the Friday at a chemical water treatment place & another for a job as a storeman in the Freezers at the local meat works. I gave that a big miss as it involved working at -20 degrees Celsius for 8 hours a day. I spent today’s shift at the dairy in the coolroom where we pack & wrap all the pallets of yoghurt ready for shipping which was -4C & that was cold enough.
Thanks Tony. Believe me…I know how life can get hectic.
Another great cartoon Bearman, I didn’t know
about Bo being in hospital but I am sure glad
that he is okay 🙂
This cartoon of yours would
have certainly cheered him up 🙂
I hope you enjoyed your Turkey day Bearman 🙂
Thanks Andro….it was a good one.
It did cheer me up Andro. My daughter brought her laptop to my hospital room. I ran off and left mine on the way to the ER.
Bearman, what a great thing to do. I had completely missed Bo was in the hospital until yesterday. I love the out pouring for a special guy. I’m sure this was good medicine for him. Thanks for doing this.
Thanks Barry. Appreciate the help
