You meet some talented people hanging out on the web and for me Google Plus. I have the fortune of befriending a great artist/caricaturist Carolyn Curtis who not only has her own page but also the G+ page Wenchkin where she highlights her work. Carolyn’s art is heavily influenced by dia de los muertos. Dia de los muertos is better known in America as The Day of the Dead celebrated in Mexico. So obviously the caricatures and her artwork tend to look like skulls.
I of course zombified the one she did of me but here is the original:
Anyone care to color it in as well? Send me your work.
Carolyn also collaborates with her boyfriend Scott Krichau who is also an amazing artist/sculptor. He takes old tanks and sculpts them into amazing pieces of art. Check out his Tank-O-Lanterns here and below is an amazing collaboration Scott and Carolyn worked on together.
Love these! I shared some of the tanks earlier this week! I have to go check her out though…I love the original. My family has a sort of thing for DDLM. Your zombification is cool!
Red.
Thanks…it is fun coloring my own face (or the representation thereof)
Coloring books are fun…I do not care how old you are…
Except I can cover up mistakes now using Photoshop
Way cool and what an honor. The Internet is a wonderful place to hook up with like minded people and become lifelong friends. I’ve sure met a lot of bloggers.
Have a terrific day. 🙂
Thanks Sandee….I don’t even mind hooking up with unlike minded people as long as they aren’t jerks..hah
You never looked better!
Nice tank, too. Theirs, not yours.
Good thing you added the laste line or I was going to say “Thank you”
So if your hair goes black your skin turns green?
I like the design on the tank. That must be difficult to cut flowers on a tank.
If you click on either of their named links it takes you to their G+ page where you can see a bunch more animated as gifs.
That’s a great zombified Bearman. I can just imagine you chasing me through the woods.
And the revolving tank looks fantastic! There’s definitely a lotta talent in this world. I’m glad people are sharing their skills with the rest of us.
You would just die of laughter I imagine.
ooh loved the zombie you 🙂
what fun will check that site you mentioned 🙂
Be careful…you may end up with some Halloween decorations.
Great artwork all around. Now we know what you will look like when you are dead. (I don’t even want to think about it.)
BTW…your brain is showin’.
Don’t worry…in my zombie state I will be back to haunt you.
!El dia… de los muertos! Is one of those things that’s almost too much fun to say…
🙂
Say 5x in a row really fast.
Too cool for school! If I wasn’t crazy finishing a special ouoija board for Burning Man I’d go for the coloring contest. Will put up a pic later.
Love her artwork -obviously yours as well. thank you for sharing this. cracked me up.
Braaaaaaaaains…….
I will have to see that Ouija board you are making. Don’t be sending me any weird spirits.
Seriously Bearman, you don’t look well 🙂
I’ve never looked better!
It’s beginning to look a lot like….Halloween!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
Love her work. Love the details.
me too…thanks Tom
Good grief!!! She really hit you hard with the ugly stick!!! Looks like Mark Stokes has a bit of competition now. Zombie Boy versus Zombie Bearman
I am sure there are some more walking dead bears in the works somewhere in the world.
Those tank o lanterns are really really cool, and when checking out the site he has them priced really well.
by really well you mean underpriced then..haha
Very fun, Carolyn. Love the peekaboo brain!
speak for yourself…I keep attracting flies.
Nice gif image 🙂 Congrats.
These are both wickedly exciting,
of course I am a tad biased being that
Skulls and Zombies are to my liking
but they do look great on your Space
also Bearman and what a fine gesture
to add them here for everyone to see
and enjoy 🙂
Have a pleasantly exciting weekend 🙂
Androgoth
Thanks. Not as much into the zombie fanation as some but I enjoy some good zombie art.
Looks like you’re set for Halloween. It must be hard to resist the temptation to poke yourself in the brain, though.
