New Banner Ads

Beartoons-Political-Skyscraper-160x600 Banner Ad Beartoons-Skyscraper-160x600 Banner Ad

So I finally decided to update my banner ads that might reflect two of the core areas of focus for Bearman Cartoons.  Politics and Pop Culture.

I love how the politics one turned out but not sure if I should have made the pop culture one animated or not.  Thoughts?

(BTW this is just the Skyscraper 160×600 but also made a Leaderboard (728×90) and a Banner Ad (468×60)  that you can check out on the Banner Ads Page

They look great! I really love the animated one! You make me wanna go step my game up. 🙂

  2. Friggin Loon says:

I like the Charlie Sheen one but would love it if his head didn’t disappear out of frame (takes your eyes away from ad).

    • Bearman says:

I did play around with that but either he becomes too small or it doesn’t look like he is swinging back and forth because it is a full swing and then a halfnswing the other way.

      • Friggin Loon says:

Try flipping the image so he swings into frame

        • Bearman says:

Its where the center of the lamp chain hangs from. You can see I moved it toward the right but if I have him coming in the frame you won’t see that and miss the point of what he is on. But obviously I need to play with it more to get it right.

          • Bo Lumpkin says:

Some people can be so picky. It looks good. I would actually like to see Charlie Sheen swing so far out of sight that we wouldn’t have to see him any more.

  3. lisleman says:

The movement attracts your eyes. Do you have a favor site to create your gifs or do you just use create them with the drawing app?

  4. Duncanr says:

The politics one is brilliant !!!

  5. Dan says:

My vote is for the political one – love it.

    • Bearman says:

Well it isn’t one over the other but if the celeb one doesn’t work I’ll have to come up with something different for that.

  6. Nate Fakes says:

Haha….good stuff, Bearman! Like the animation. I can pee them being very affective.

  7. Roland says:

I like the political one better than the Sheen one. But other than that, they both look really good.

    • Bearman says:

Thanks Roland. I have a few ideas for the celebrity one that might work instead. Now it is just figuring out how to do it.

  8. I like the right one better. But if there wasn’t the right one I’d like the left one also. I like both. Both are good.

    Hope that helps 🙂

  9. Nice work on the banner ads – love the politics one.

  10. Personally I love them both. I like how Charlie is animated but it could go either way in my opinion.

  11. Lynn says:

Love ’em both! Mor great work from the Bearman!

  12. I wonder how much longer the Charlie Sheen one will be relevant for…

  13. Colleen says:

Love both of ’em! I agree, the political one is the more Brilliant. I wondered is that swinging idiot wearing a diaper? But I can see what ppl are saying about him swinging in and out of the frame. Maybe it would be better if the swing was on the Z-axis,, full frontal and he gets bigger as he comes toward us and smaller as he swings away at least that way he’d stay in the frame.

  14. WOWZA!
    ‘Thems’ll’ grab some attention!
I don’t have the first clue on how to create animation… (Flash?) you’ve done a wonderful job on these, Bearman!
    🙂

    • Bearman says:

I bet you do. It is using animation in photoshop. Simplest way even if you only have Elements is to create each layer in PS as a different frame of your animation. Bottom frame is the first frame in the animation and top the last. No other layers should be in photoshop.

Then go to save for web and save it as an animated gif. That simple.

      • Bearman says:

It’s actually even easier in full PS but that takes too long to explain..haha

        • No kidding!?
I have full PS -(although it’s older) CS3. I’ll have to look into this further!
Thanks for the info, Bearman – I appreciate it a lot – I always learn cool stuff here!
          🙂

          • Bearman says:

CS3 has it…just google photoshop animation tutorial. They’ll help you out. Can’t wait to see what you come up with.

  15. bschooled says:

HAHA! They’re both stellar, Bearman. My marketing mind says the political one, only because it’s only a matter of time before Sheen ends up being old news. But if you plan on alternating celebrities, then I think it’s a brilliant idea.

  16. Binky says:

Swinging Charlie is good in that it certainly captures your attention, but it might be a little too attention grabbing and become annoying, depending on where it’s placed on a site. You might consider also making a static version for those who don’t want animated banners.

  17. jynksie says:

Both those banner ads… #WINNING-DUH! … or is it DUH!- WINNING! ?

  18. Tony McGurk says:

Love the crazed drunken swinging Charlie one.
It is Prince Charles of England isn’t it???

  19. jammer5 says:

I’d have Charlie swinging upside down, trying to reach his watch.

  20. Bo Lumpkin says:

Watch out Disney. Bearman is an animatin’ machine. 🙂

  21. Jason says:

Nice work! Strangely, I look at the Charlie Sheen one and think, “That looks like fun.” I wonder what that says about me?

    • Bearman says:

Well get your hanes on and try it. Just make sure there isn’t a party going on in your house. Wouldn’t want to end up on YouTube

  22. writerdood says:

I see you’ve been making gifs Bearman. Very nice! I like it. Nice job. I was into making gifs for a while. Haven’t played with it much anymore, but they’re fun. You should try working in Flash – then you can create some interactivity. Like a cartoon that changes on mouseovers and clicks might be fun.

    • Bearman says:

Now I will have to learn HTML5 because ipad’s don’t support flash. Ugh…the thought of learning another new software.

  23. Jillsy Girl says:

Charlie is great! And I do like the animation very much!

  24. Goeber says:

    sheen is the boom! 😉

  25. Wondering post here with a new thought.

  26. The 2nd one is tough because pop culture changes so much and people’s patience for it fades fast. But that said I think Really good and you can’t get more pop culture than Charlie right now.
