Movie Poster – Aidan Casserly of Scapula

House of Scapula Aidan Casserly for beartoons

For the next several weeks I am taking a break.  So as part of my May Charity Challenge I asked for submissions of cartoonists to send a movie/tv poster if their characters replaced the actors.  I’ll be posting Sunday, Tuesday and Thursdays so check back and give the cartoonists the support you fail to give me.  haha. j/k.

First up is Aidan Casserly of Scapula fame.   Aiden describes Scapula as

SCAPULA is the story of the World’s Worst Villain…’worst’ in every sense of the word.  Scapula is a frustrated, downtrodden man in a somewhat-scary skeleton costume who fights to prove his worth to the world.  To do that he’ll have to stake his claim in the underworld, competing with the likes of other crazed super-villains, monsters, gangsters, lunatics and other troubled minds.  It’s going to be a tough trip.

I personally think Scapula is a cross between alien Spiderman and the Tick.  Typically I am not into long form comics but Aidan’s beautiful illustration work and potty humor keep things so entertaining that I have to stay updated.  You can too.  He posts every Sunday so check him out.

Next up on Thursday is Robert of Spilled Ink

I love the hunchback eating cheetos… cause that is what I picture a hunchback to be eating. The “poster” looks fantastic. I’m nervous now for the one I submitted.

That Frankenstein monster looks a bit like Rosie O’donnell.
Have a great break. I mean vacation.

    • Ron-Yves says:

      I’m sure Frank’s got a tighter ass…

    • DadaHyena says:

I forgot that a lot of people looking at this image wouldn’t be familiar with SCAPULA or its cast. Well…that’s down two points for poor planning on my part.

Frankenstein’s Monster is being portrayed by Scapula’s giantess nemesis, Knuckle Sam, whom I’m sure has never met Rosie O’Donnell (although that would be one helluva fight!).

  9. Corve says:

    This is impressive

  14. Everyone’s beat me to it, but I hope you have a very relaxing break, Beaman (although following Aidan is gonna’ get me heckled right out of the Bearcave)!

It comes as no surprise that A.C.’s submission is nothing short of amazing. Great work as always, Aidan! 🙂

  15. DadaHyena says:

Thank you very much for posting, Bearman. Here’s hoping I can swipe a few of your readers like my dear old pa swiped other folks wives and money (…sniff…that’s my old man!).

Incidentally, the comics of Spider-Man and the Tick were sort of an inspiration, so you’ve exposed me as the plagiarist hack that I am!

Keep them comments coming, people! They don’t all have to be nice!
