  • Five Dollar Foot Long – Zombway

Zombway Eat Flesh by Bearman Cartoons

Today’s cartoon was inspired by a Google Plus post by S. Heart.   His comment:  “Zombie Subway: Eat Flesh”  Someone quickly pointed out that someone else already spoofed the name on a tshirt with a Zombie: Eat Flesh logo.  But of course I wanted my own Zombway cartoon showing the zombie actually eating a “$5 Footlong”.   And by footlong I mean dismembered foot.

Hilarious.  I am going to be busy this week so I finished this on Monday and scheduled the post.  5 minutes later I am looking through google plus and see it is all over the place (see here and here)   Though so far I am the only one who has played off the $5 footlong.  I am sure someone will find it already done.

Finally, in honor of Roland Perez’ 8th (yes I said 8th) child being born, I did a guest cartoon for him at Metal Jaw Comics .

  • Z&G at 1

Unlike the first two guest cartoons, Roland Perez of Metal Jaw Comics and more specifically Z&G decided to showcase his characters at age one.   Z is Zech and is a Zombie.  G is Geist and is a Ghost.  Thus explains what Roland said when he sent my the cartoon:

Here is the guest cartoon for 1 or 100. Of course I went with a somewhat disturbing choice with picking baby Z & G. Which is disturbing because it is weird to think of a baby zombie and a baby ghost. I hope you like it. I got a bit of inspiration from one of my favorite cartoons “Muppet Babies”

Definitely plenty of inspiration shown from the Muppet Babies but who is that handsome fellow on the wall?   Love it.  Thanks again to all my guest cartoonists.  Make sure to follow all of them on Social Media and continue to check out their sites.

Soory for the delay on this one it showed it missed the scheduled posting.  If it knew that why didn’t it just post?

  • Art of Carolyn Curtis

Bearman Cartoons Zombie by Carolyn Curtis

You meet some talented people hanging out on the web and for me Google Plus.  I have the fortune of befriending a great artist/caricaturist Carolyn Curtis who not only has her own page but also the G+ page Wenchkin where she highlights her work.    Carolyn’s art is heavily influenced by dia de los muertos.  Dia de los muertos is better known in America as The Day of the Dead celebrated in Mexico.  So obviously the caricatures and her artwork tend to look like skulls.

I of course zombified the one she did of me but here is the original:

    bearman day of the dead

Anyone care to color it in as well?  Send me your work.

Carolyn also collaborates with her boyfriend Scott Krichau who is also an amazing artist/sculptor.   He takes old tanks and sculpts them into amazing pieces of art.  Check out his Tank-O-Lanterns here and below is an amazing collaboration Scott and Carolyn worked on together.

  • Guest Cartoon: Jande Rowe

Guest Cartoon Jande Rowe for Beartoons.com

Today’s guest cartoon submission is from Jande Rowe of e-Orbits Comix (home of Aedre’s Firefly).  Jande’s line work is amazing on AF but what I enjoy just as much is her personal stories that tend to accompany each post.

Now my only complaint is that she assumes I have any weight to actually take off.  I do, but the presumption of it bothers me. haha.  Now on the other hand she obviously drew me with killer abs.  So all is forgiven.

Make sure to check out Jande’s work and also follow her on twitter @eccentricorbits
