  • Is it funnier in your head?

    Lego My Eggo

So I posted this meme called “Lego my Eggo” on Google Plus the other day trying to make a waffle look like a Lego piece.  I think it was funnier in my head than my execution of it.   Ever fail yourself where you think something is hilarious and then you put it down on paper or draw it and you realize it really isn’t that great?

Something that is funnier on paper is Joel Poirier’s Stripped Comics.  Joel recently revamped his website to look like a comic book store.  I joked that he needed a Bearman doll on the shelves.

No doll but he was kind enough to put a sticker on the shelf that actually links back here.  Sadly I have to share company with Aidan Casserly of Scapula (haha j/k Aidan – if you don’t know Scapula go check him out too)

  • Guest Cartoon: Scapula

He go check out the guest cartoon I did for Aidan Casserly over at Scapula.

Yeah it is small, but click it and it will grow really big.    The PICTURE, I am talking about the PICTURE you dirty people.

And check out the one George Ford did as well.

    Bearman Guest Cartoon: Aidan Casserly

Today’s guest cartoon comes from the multi-talented Aidan Casserly of Scapula fame.   I have a short attention span so I tend to shy away from comics with extended story lines.  But Aidan keeps the humor going in each weekly strip and his artwork is amazing so he has me hooked.

I don’t know why The Bearman doesn’t take hold.  Maybe in a future story, Aidan can write how all this rejection turns him bad (or good).

Last up is George Ford of Addanac City on Sunday.

    Metal Jaw Comic

So it looks like I am everywhere this week. I already posted about the guest cartoon I did for Faraday the Blob in honor of the birth of Alan Ryan’s son. Well Roland Perez has decided to sperm one up him by taking a break as NUMBER SEVEN named Samuel was just born.  So I did a guest cartoon for his cartoon,  Z&G (Zombie and Ghost) which you can…

Check out the Z&G Guest Cartoon Here.

    Life According to Tony

Then Tony of “Life According to Tony” (formerly the YNOT blog and 20 other sites when the Tazmanian couldn’t decide what he wanted to be, posted a new cartoon of ME!!  Well not exactly me but of my beautiful green haired gravatar.  So you can…

    Check IT out here.

Finally I wasn’t going to post this because it has NOTHING to do with me.  I begged and pleaded to do the voice over (heck I would have even done the girl part) but Aidan was having nothing of it.  Anyway…he posted a 3 part video series of his comic Scapula on YouTube (I am sure he got rights to that song…heh hem).  Here is part one:

  • Movie Poster – Dressed for Success & Scapula

To finish out the guest cartoons we are doing a double post.  First up is Dress for Success from Chris Howard and Jeff Wason.  Dress for Success is a story arc comic that doesn’t feel like a long form comic as the writers keep the dialogue to a minimum or don’t bother using any at all.  Check out the archives to go through the story.  Here is how Chris describes it:

Dressed For Success is the story of Alex Corbett and Walter Andrewkowski, two guys thrown together by chance, now making their way in a crazy universe one adventure at a time. All the while trying to stay one step ahead of the mafia and with the hopes of turning a profit. Begun in the 90’s during the Indie boom, DFS is back on the web and ready for new adventures. As with our earlies stories, we produced a series of movie parody posters. Most were just for fun and to tease people before we started our new story, but the Crystal Skull poster was actually the title page for our first new story, Mississauga Jay and the Lost Shrine of the Osars. The Hangover parody proved very popular, and could lead into an actual story in the future. Alex and Walter have traveled back in time once already, and an even more convoluted messed up time story with Philip, (the guy in the back) helping them wouldn’t be out of the question. The baby Mafia alien is a total wild card.

All the parody posters are viewable here: http://egestacomics.com/parody-posters/

Aidan Casserly Rocky Horror Show Scapula Spoof for Beartoons.com

Rounding out the Guest Movie Posters we return to Aidan Casserly of Scapula fame in his rendition of Scapula ala The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Thanks to all my Guest Cartoonists for helping out during my break.  Hope you readers have enjoyed it.

  • Movie Poster – Aidan Casserly of Scapula

House of Scapula Aidan Casserly for beartoons

For the next several weeks I am taking a break.  So as part of my May Charity Challenge I asked for submissions of cartoonists to send a movie/tv poster if their characters replaced the actors.  I’ll be posting Sunday, Tuesday and Thursdays so check back and give the cartoonists the support you fail to give me.  haha. j/k.

First up is Aidan Casserly of Scapula fame.   Aiden describes Scapula as

SCAPULA is the story of the World’s Worst Villain…’worst’ in every sense of the word.  Scapula is a frustrated, downtrodden man in a somewhat-scary skeleton costume who fights to prove his worth to the world.  To do that he’ll have to stake his claim in the underworld, competing with the likes of other crazed super-villains, monsters, gangsters, lunatics and other troubled minds.  It’s going to be a tough trip.

I personally think Scapula is a cross between alien Spiderman and the Tick.  Typically I am not into long form comics but Aidan’s beautiful illustration work and potty humor keep things so entertaining that I have to stay updated.  You can too.  He posts every Sunday so check him out.

Next up on Thursday is Robert of Spilled Ink
