Nah…I’ve never thought about it. BUT, Mr. YnB had his mug placed in an Indiana Jones poster several years back and it was so real looking that we have it in our media room. It’s so funny to see if people react to it. Many don’t notice, but those that do (or finally notice after having passed it many times in the past) can’t believe how real it looks!

    1. Bearman Avatar

I think you might have to post that.

    2. nursemyra Avatar

you have a media room Jill? That’s impressive.

      1. Bearman Avatar

I do too…it’s called my living room though.

wow that’s cool…i’d like to mess around with this tutorial! photoshop is intense, i wonder how easy it would be for a novice?

    1. Bearman Avatar

The main thing is understanding layers. Once you have that down, I find PS to be pretty easy esp if you have step by step tutorials.

      1. lynn Avatar

understanding layers? you coulve just saved me a lot of frustration…thanks.

All you have to do is ask.

I have found the EASIEST editing tool “PICNIK”. Layering is a snap! $24.95 a year! Does lots of good things!

          2. Bearman Avatar

Also is a free image manipulation program. I have never used it but I hear from others that they like it.

I don’t think I want my face on posters. Actually my face is better suited for radio.

    1. Bearman Avatar

You may have a face for radio but do you have a voice for newspapers.

Just make sure we get to see if you make anything out of it. Don Mills as Rambo would be nice.

I’m not really awesome at it but I use GIMP which is a free photoshop type program I downloaded. It does lots of stuff but I am rather limited in my understanding of that kinda stuff which is common to us oldsters regarding technology

Interesting stuff, but I am still learning Photoshop period… I am getting there finally. Thanks for the links.

    1. Bearman Avatar

I find that following a bunch of tutorials like that helps learn the program in baby steps so you can see what all it can do.

  17. […] Taking some time off in June so looking for guest cartoons to fill the void.  Obviously I don’t have recurring characters but last years call to highlight your characters in new ways was well received.  So here is the challenge.  Replace the actor(s) in your favorite movie/television show with one or more of your characters.  Submissions can take the form of fake posters, single panel or strip.  Keep submissions within 600 pixels wide.  Here is just one example from the Family Guy (obviously doesn’t need to be that in depth).   If you need inspiration, check out my recent post on recreating 35 famous movie posters.
