One of my new friends I found on Google Plus is Illustrator Sara Mena. She is one of those artists whose work I am constantly in awe of. Her line work and coloring is just amazing.
The other day she posted that she was heading to CARNAVAL (for the uninformed it is like Mardi Gras but in Brazil and way more out there). Joking as if I read it as if she were going to the “carnival”, I asked her to bring me back some Cotton Candy. So a few days later to my amazement this image popped up in my stream.
You can follow Sara on Google Plus or Twitter.
Also this week I did a guest cartoon for QuarterBar where I did a mash up of one of his photos and added my cartoon touch to it. Check it out here.
Love it!!
Thanks J.
Way cool. She got you what you asked for. Cool.
Have a terrific day. 🙂
If only ALL women listened to me that well.
I like this a lot, B! Looks like you may have a new profile pic/ Gravatar you can use. Great work, Sara!
You don’t know how often I thought about changing my gravatar but people stop recognizing you when you do that.
Sarah did an awesome job of this. Great work.
She did…thanks
Cotton candy makes you younger. The Bearkid. I love it. Great work.
and thinner 🙄
I thought Cotton Candy made you fatter. Bring on the CC
I like her art style. Very nice! And her characterization of you is very good, too.
Now if I could only get her off G+ to come accept this congratulations.
Admit it. You are hooked on G+ too.
Oh…I am an addict alright. I tend to forget about my FB and Twitter friends.
Wow! Great job, Sara!
Very, very cool!
That would definitely go to my head!
(Well… the cotton candy would probably go to my gut, but…)
🙂
Great work! I sit in awe! [smile]
It is indeed.
Nice! Well done!
Thank you all SO MUCH for the great comments! I’m really glad ^_^ And most of all I’m very happy that Bearman like the picture, I just had to do it after reading his comment 🙂 Not only that but his art inspires me. I certainly hope to do more. Thanks once again for the warm comments. I should have brough cotton candy for you all 😀
You’ll have to do some more guest posts for me it seems.
ehehh I’ll try to ^_^
That is cute and really nice.
Nice job, Sara!
That a really good job she did of you with cotton candy, Bearman!..I’m sure you love it!
I’ll make you wait until May when I start my charity challenge to follow suit.
I think you need to cut and colour your hair to match Sara’s depiction
How do you know it isn’t already?
I don’t care for cotton candy but my wife just loves it. The word carnavel and carnival come from the latin phrase carne levare meaning to remove meat. Since cotton candy has no meat, it’s a good choice.
Remove meat….now you have to tell me the story of how that translates to a circus atmosphere.
That’s some amazing fan art.
🙂
That’s beautiful! It’s like pastels, ink and paint. What’d she use to make it?
Not sure. I am thinking watercolors but not sure.
Thank you Brandon! 😀 Glad you like it! I used indian ink, watercolours but with very few water and some digital touch ^_^
Always cool to get drawn by others. Or as you like to call it getting mugged! Ha,ha,ha!
Mugging in the nicest form though. haha
Very cool! (Although, I compare any illustrator that doesn’t give you a gray hairline very cool.) Honestly though – well done. I like.
Speaking of which, did you get those glasses yet?
Love it! This is exactly how I picture you would look like at a carnival, Bearman! Or at home. Or anywhere, for that matter.
You just seem like the type of caricature who would eat cotton candy anywhere.
Usually just at the gym so I maintain my weight.
Great drawing.
Fun illustration style. Really like it.
Sara rocks! You ARE world famous Bearman, an amazing cartoonist and illustrator did your portrait!
If she isn’t world famous, she should be.
