Kim Jong Un on Christmas – Retro Cartoon

Editorial Cartoon Kim Jong Un Pajamas

Kim Jong Un is back in the news again this Christmas so thought it was time to reshare this cartoon I did in 2011 when he took over as Supreme Ruler in North Korea.   Seems there is some issues that North Korea has with Sony Pictures “The Interview” starring Seth Rogen and James Franco.    The premise being the two stars are hosts of a tabloid show and when invited to do an interview with Kim Jong Un, are recruited by the CIA to turn it into an assassination plot.

In turn, North Korean hackers, hacked Sony leaking private emails and personal employee information along with a slew of other secrets the company would probably have liked the world not to see.  And most recently the North Koreans have placed the blame for the production of the movie on the US Government itself, claiming the government helped get the movie produced as a propaganda piece.

Don’t they know our government doesn’t have a sense of humor.

(Surprisingly for always being on top of the North Korean goings on, I haven’t heard anything from the Friggin Loon on this story)

  • Retro Cartoon: Recycled Campaign Promises

    11 5 07 Recycled Political Candidates copy

OK this is a twice recycled cartoon post.  So I am lazy.   But it is still relevant.  I originally created this in 2007 before I had a blog.   Reposted it in 2009 and now reposting again since half of you are new here since then.  From my 2009 post:

I did this editorial cartoon about 2 years ago after an election. In the states, the landscape is cluttered with yard signs that promote candidates and issues in the month leading up to the election. While the volunteers are quick to put up the signs they are slow to remove them.

Locally we have laws that say you can’t put the signs on public property, yet no one pays any attention to that because there really isn’t a penalty for violating it.

So be a good citizen and clean up your campaign yard signs, recycle them and please STOP recycling your campaign promises.

    Funny how things never change.

  • Bearman Classic: Marge Simpson Playboy

Marge Simpson appears in Playboy Magazine

Busy week so letting those of you who haven’t been around since the beginning days check out a Bearman retro cartoon.

Back in 2009, Marge Simpson was set to appear in Playboy Magazine.  Anything to boost magazine sales huh?  Well this was my take on what that centerfold spread might have looked like.

  • Internet Dating Sucks – Cartoons

Internet Dating Sucks PsychoInternet Dating Sucks Let's Play House Back in 2003, I put was putting together a how-to-NOT book on Internet Dating.  So I drew some gag panels to go with the book.  I think you will notice a difference in my style then versus now.  My wife and a few family members were the only ones ever to buy copies before I yanked it down off the internet.

Before I met my wife, I went on my fair share of dates and learned that believe it or not women are a bunch of liars. Ok to be fair, most of my female friends say the same thing about the men online.  Whether lying about employment, size, age, or simply putting up pictures that aren’t even you, there are quit a few nut jobs out there that think the rest of us are too stupid to figure it out once we meet you.

I have a bunch of horror stories and more pics if people are interested.  Any dating horror stories out there?  Oh and since I know someone will ask, my wife and I did NOT meet on the internet.  Probably plays into why, while she loves my cartoons, could care less about my site.

  • Retro Cartoon – Merry F You

Posted this last year before I had anyone actually visiting.  It is actually the first editorial cartoon I did way back in December of 2005.

Thought it would be a good tie in to my Editorial Cartoon Caption Contest.  Still time today to get your entries in.

  • Retro Cartoon: Black Friday

Repost of a cartoon I did last year about Black Friday.  Seems this year didn’t live up to even last years dismal results.

Black Friday is so called b/c for many retailers it is what brings them out of the red (losses) and into the black (profits)
