Guest Cartoon: 1977 The Comic

Byron Wilkins of 1977theComic is always supportive of my calls for guest cartoons here so I jumped at the chance to do one for his band (really it is a band) of 70’s lovers, drinkers, and stoners.

Check it out!!!

Good one Bearman. I am really kind of confused since I been through all of those decades. When are the 50’s and 60’s styles comin’ back around?

Hold onto those fat ties of yours. Some day they will come back

If only I could sync up the fashion cycle with my current ‘style’. Oh well. Guess I’ll just stick to plain black T-shirts. 🙂

Man…the eighties seems a lot scarier now than it actually was!

I’m still working on my guest toon for Byron, that slavedriver…

That’s what happens when you do such good guest cartoon work…it takes you longer.

This is why one shoud never throw out old clothes; save them and they WILL come back into fashion in a little over one generation. Excellent take boss.

    1. Bearman Avatar

What if they don’t fit anymore and probably never will

      1. Dave Hambidge Avatar

Sell them as historic costumes with a good (invented) provenance!

Hmm, I am guessing the 1987 dude had some chin work 🙂

    1. Bearman Avatar

      No…it’s all covered by makeup.

The 80’s version was my favorite—I’d be pissed off too if my hair looked like that…

    1. Bearman Avatar

I had fun drawing the big metal hair

You know looking at that, I can see why adults ,when we were young, thought we were stupid. I look at kids today trying to “embrace” decades they were not a part of and thinking “who the hell do you think you are” You know, kids who when you say Star Wars, they think of Jar Jar and Anakin and Padme, instead of Luke, Han and Leia.

    1. Bearman Avatar

And when you say Jar Jar, I think Mayonaisse.
