Today’s Guest Cartoon is from Michael Pohrer of Tooned In/Welcome to the Jungle fame. Here is how Michael describes his webcomic:
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man … a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. There’s a sign post up ahead, your next stop Welcome To The Jungle©. In their Golden Age glory we present Earl and Cami Bronze 2062.
Welcome To The Jungle© is a feature cartoon strip that revolves around Bronze’s fitness center owned by Earl Bronze. Earl seems to effortlessly glide about the daily business of running a fitness center located in Osage Beach, a bustling paradise. Cami Bronze is Earl’s wife. As luck would have it they live right next door to Jim and Edna Jungle.
Jim Jungle is a fitness instructor at Bronzes. Edna Jungle, Jim’s wife tries to cope with everyday life while dealing with Jim’s foibles and failings. Jim and Edna are an average couple grinding through daily life just as you and your neighbors.
Chip Diel and Chet Rayban are two regular fitness center members. The duo work out often with little to show for their effort.
The whole premise of the strip centers around typical daily life. Except for one thing, “IT’S A JUNGLE OUT THERE”. Witness the spectacle of human failings through the outrageously overactive antics of a huge dysfunctional group of the most unlikely characters to ever be found at a fitness center in a bustling paradise. Presented in the fabulous 2-D Cartoon-O-Vision format. Welcome To The Jungle©
I don’t think Michael is ever at a loss for words. haha. He doesn’t have comments on his site right now but he is very active on Google Plus so feel free to comment on his work (well other than this one) over there or interact with him. (Michael’s Google Plus link). Thanks Michael.
Just like real life. I like that idea. I’ve not joined Google+ so going over there doesn’t let me comment.
Have a terrific day. 🙂
Thanks for reading the funnies.
Nothing good about growing old 🙁
More free time.
True.
Depends on from what age
Depends usually happen around the older generation. Wait, What? Ha,ha,ha!
Take it from-someone who knows, it is much better than the alternative.
Take it from-someone who knows, it is much better than the alternative.
The only benefit I see is you just have cooler toys.
A laugh and a Metallica song stuck in my head?!
I’ll take that.
🙂
Psst…Guns ‘n’ Roses.
*walks away whistling*
glad you cleared that up hehehehheh. was going to write ‘guns and posies’
Guns, Ha! Another group that couldn’t keep the ego’s in check.
Not what’s stuck in my head.
Apologies to Axl.
Ha! He should apologize to us for that lame ass hissy fit here in St. Louis.
Thought that would jog somebody’s memory. Ha!
Heh thanks for pointing me to a comic I hadn’t read before.
Hey Colleen, glad to see you checking in on the funnies.
Good job Michael. I love the guys in the Jungle. Most of them will never see 100 without a liver transplant though.
Thank’s Bo. The word of the day is now transfusion.
As usual you’ve found another great comic to enjoy. This one looks grand 🙂
Thank you Bearman!
I really do appreciate grabbing new readers. Thanks for the kind words. Currently Welcome To The Jungle© runs on Monday/Wednesday, and FIDDLESTIX© runs on Fridays. On a sidenote: We are taking a look back at WTTJ’s first year, and FIDDLESTIX is gearing up for the 25th Anniversary when it first started running on the printed pages. So we are running some gags from overseas for this feature.
Thanks everybody, I appreciate the kind words, and kudos. Huge Thanks to everybody for reading the funnies.
And thank you for providing them.
Always glad to throw a guest cartoon down for your little corner of the digital world.
He’s got more hair than me & he’s double my age now. Not fair!!!
Maybe it’s a paste on half crown. Ha,ha,ha!
Thanks all for continuing to comment. Internet access is so so down here so can’t log in as much as I would lime
Thanks for the extra exposure, much appreciated.
I bet there will be even more fantastic material to mine thru when these characters actually hit 100. Good work, MJ!
Thanks for the kudos George. Do you think I’ll actually still be slinging ink at that time and place? Whew! I’m not sure I’ll be able to still do it at that age.
