ToonMZ Linus Van Pelt of Peanuts Fame to Appear on Hoarders

Former child star, Linus Van Pelt (no relation to Stephanie Van Pelt), has been tapped to be featured on an upcoming episode of the hit show “Hoarders”.

Recently, ToonMZ, spent a few minutes with Linus about his upcoming appearance.

“It’s all Lucy and Snoopy’s fault” (referring to his older sister Lucy Van Pelt and his best friends dog). “For years, they tried to take my blanket and I successfully fended them off each and every time. Then one day, I got up to get my bottle of Makers Mark and took my eyes off my blanket for a split second. That was the moment Lucy and Snoopy had been waiting on forever.”

After a few moments to blot his eyes, Linus continued his story.

“It was at that moment that I realized I needed a backup plan. I needed more blankets. I knew I would not survive this cruel life with only one blanket and cruel friends. I have spent every day of my life finding and storing every blanket I could get my pudgy little fingers on. Salvation Army, Goodwill, Wal-Mart and anywhere I can find a blanket either old or new, is not safe.”

ToonMZ was not able to get a direct (or honest) estimate from Linus about how many blankets he has collected but our team of expert guestimators was able to get a quick peek in his condo and came up with approximately 1,924,000 blankets.

Update: ToonMZ has just learned that the estate of the late Charles Schultz has given its blessing to an upcoming “Peanuts” special entitled “It’s the Great Hoarder, Charlie Brown”

  • No Nuts Zone

The idea for the most recent t-shirt design from WackSack.com came from our friends up North trying to do the right thing and the media of course taking it hilariously wrong.

It seems that after complaints of two passengers, the Canadian Transportation Agency has order Air Canada to come up with a plan to accomodate those with severe peanut allergies.  It seems two people who complained to the CTA got action after not getting anywhere with Air Canada.  The CTA ruled, “people with peanut and nut allergies face significant barriers to safe travel and should be treated as having a disability. As such, all accommodations should be made to ensure their safety while travelling with Air Canada.”

The funniest part is if you clicked the link to the story on a USA Today Blog not only is the title hilarious – Air Canada ordered to give fliers a ‘nut-free’ flight option – but take a look at the accompanying picture.  Really?  The best image to go with this story is a picture of an inflated hotdog??

So we give you the lastest No Nuts design available on t-shirts, buttons, bags, etc.  Some useful ideas for who you might buy this for include:

    • Your favorite peanut allergy sufferer.  Why should they have to explain their allergies to everyone.  Let a shirt speak for itself.
    • Your favorite man in your life.  Make sure he wears this out in public with you so everyone knows who wears the pants in the relationship.
    • Your favorite lesbian.  What better way to tell a guy to f_ off in a humorous way by letting him know you aren’t interested.

Personally, I think if they want to create a “nut free” zone in the airplanes, I would be happy to seat passengers accordingly since I can point out the real nuts.  They tend to get seated next to me and want to share their entire life story with me when all I want to do is sleep.  Oh and I have a great idea for Air Canada to easily adhere to this new policy.  STOP SERVING PEANUTS.  Give out pretzels instead.

  • Bearman Cartoon: Harry Reid

For my out of country readers a little background on the editorial cartoon below.

    – President Obama wants a Healthcare Reform Bill passed
    – Many Republicans and some moderate Dems don’t want to include a so called Public Option (whereby people can buy insurance from the government) for fear of the long term costs.
    – Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid introduced a version of the Healthcare Bill that includes a State by State opt out solution. This caused Olympia Snowe, the lone Republican who supported the commitee plan to publicly back out of her support as well as some others.

The biggest issue IMO is that the two largest areas of concern are those who want insurance who can’t get it at a reasonable rate and those who can’t withstand a major catastrophe. Now I am not economist but couldn’t the government put out a bid much like a large company for insurance companies to offer them group rates. Individuals without a company plan could get this corporate rate rather than expensive COBRA or the like. Then the government could offer a “public option” to those wanting catastrophic insurance such that it would kick in when medical bills reached a certain percent of yearly gross income.
