The Most Interesting Smurf in the World

The Most INteresting Man in the World is a Smurf Bearman Cartoons

If you asked me if I was starting out doing a parody mash up of Dos Equis Beer’s “Most Interesting Man in the World” and Papa Smurf, the answer is no.  Just as I started drawing the famous ad man’s face I noticed his resemblance to the old blue guy.

By the way if you notice some strange things with my site the next week, I am trying to update a few things.   Hopefully all will be complete by next week.

  • Australian Beer Tastes Like Piss

Bearman Cartoons Australian Beer Tastes Like Piss

Today’s cartoon is an homage to the beer of Australia.   In America we get Foster’s as pretty much the only import of Australian beers.  You know the commercial  “Fosters, Australian for Beer.”  However, you won’t find it anywhere in Australia and if you ask an Aussie, they will tell you that Fosters is crap they can and market to foreigners (typically “piss” is used in the sentence as well.

Now I am not a beer connoisseur like another in our travel party.  I like pilsner and lagers.  Don’t like wheat beer, don’t like ales, don’t like Guiness.   Hell most of the time a Miller Lite is good enough for me (got to keep my figure you know).   The beer whiz in the party thought all Australian beer tasted like piss.  Compared to the microbrews all over the United States, it definitely was a much weaker taste.   And trust me we went all over.   In fact, here is a little taste of what beers I drank.

Australia BeersTooheys and James Boags (OK I know it is Tasmania not Australia) were probably my favorites.   Four X was one my least favorite though it is the most popular beer there.

Sadly there was one Australian Beer that I didn’t get to try… PISS BEER.

    From their website:

Aussies have been on the piss, getting pissed, drinking piss, drinking more piss and, most definitely, taking the piss for the past two hundred years.  The amazing thing is none of us thought to bottle it earlier. (Too busy getting pissed, probably.)

  • St Paddy’s Day 2011

    Saint Patricks Day T-shirt

Ok so I posted the same thing last year but I have 3 more regular commenters who may not have gone back so far in the archives.  Click here for all the products with this design.

Don’t forget St. Patricks day is once again March 17 so what are your plans??

Oh and if you want something new, here it is.  If you ever find yourself in the back alleys of St Louis Missouri make sure to stop into SpilledInkGuy (aka Robert J.) and his lovely wife Anna’s store Paint the Moon.  There you can see some of his artwork and also paint your own pottery.  I’ll be sure to make a stop next time I am in the city.  Then again, it has been fifteen years since the last time I was there.

  • Guest Cartoon: Colleen Dick

    Bearman Guest Cartoon: Colleen Dick

Today’s homage to the gravatar that is known as Bearman comes from a recent commenter at Beartoons, Colleen Dick of Tix Comix.  Now I only have two problems with this image.  One is the beer gut.  She claims where she comes from anyone over 25 without a beer belly is considered a girly-man.  The other issue is that she thinks I would be drinking PBR.  Now my brand is Avalanche, Fat Tire, Smithwicks, Harp or even Miller Lite.  No Pabst Blue Ribbon, no Red White and Blue and no Natural Light.  Then again, if I wanted a cheap date, those might be OK.

I asked Colleen to explain what Tix Comix is for my readers and she says “Tix Comix chronicles the amazing semi autobiographical adventures of alterego Tix Branco, an introverted multicultural geek musician, as she and her friends confront the daily insanity of real life. Super powers occasionally come into play.”

Thanks Colleen.  Next up is Ken Drab of Rick the Stick.

  • Saint Paddy’s Day T-shirt

    Saint Patricks Day T-shirt

March 17 marks the celebration of St Patrick’s Day. So to celebrate, I thought I would finally work on my St. Paddy’s t-shirt design that has been running in my head. Gone are my green beer days and feeling the need to stand in a crowd of 400 in a bar that usually holds 20. I guess when you are single, these things are more tempting.

Astute readers will notice something that I purposefully did wrong in my design. Can you point it out??

Do you celebrate the holiday and if so what do you do??

  • Sweet Cherry Beer

Hoping to get a toon out this week but things have been crazy.

Here is another shirt design from the fictional WackSack Brewing Company.

Sweet Cherry Beer with the tag “Drink Like It’s Your First Time”

  • Oktoberfest T-shirt

Cincinnati is known to have the largest Oktoberfest celebration outside of Germany.  Now while Germany’s lasts over several weeks and actually runs into October, for whatever reason Cincinnati’s is over a weekend and always in September.  So that is why I highlight them now.

The very first t-shirt we put on WackSack.com was this Oktoberfest shirt that shows a guy in lederhosen carrying a large sausage.  The back say’s “Grab your Sausage and Have Fun”.  It has consistently been one of the top sellers.
