For those of you who follow me on Facebook, Google Plus or Twitter, you might have already seen this Cartoon meme I did of Mickey Mouse wearing a Darth Vader helmet saying “Luke I am your father now!”. Yesterday it was announced that Disney was purchasing Lucasfilm (home of Star Wars) for $4 Billion.
Luckily for me I had a lunch break yesterday and was able to get on top of drawing this before all the other meme’s started their way around the internet. I had a blistering 142 people share this on Google plus and a few on Twitter/FB as well. Now if I could only get my normal cartoons to do so well. Maybe I should just do cartoon meme’s from now on.
Bearman I love this one. lmho
Thanks JB!
Hilarious Mister B. Mickey Vader. Will we see a Goofy Skywalker???
I thought Jar Jar was Goofy?
Oh definitely goofy as jar jar
I would like to see The Black Hole with Ewoks… Now the curious thing is why Dreamworks did not buy Lucasfilms… Although they may not have 4B in cash lying around.
Sure…pick up the obscure 1970’s movie that I could barely remember. You are the queen of pop culture references.
I always suspected that mouse of evil.
Nice one, BM!
BM? Really?
I knew that’d get you!
THIS IS YOUR BEST TOON EVER!!!!! Shame you couldn’t add audio …. saying that in his squeaky little voice…priceless
This, you need to sell on T-shirts…except Disney would probably sue your ass off….they are like that 🙁
Yeah…I don’t do the fan art thing. While I am happy to share it with folks, I don’t feel right trying to profit off someone else’s stuff. Though maybe..haha
Now since Disney owns Star Wars, they won’t need legal remedies… they can just choke you with the force!
Disney is very good about protecting their brand
Good one, B! Man, I wish I had thought of something for this event. I think your is one of the better ones around.
That’s why it helps not to post 5x a week. You got time for the quickies.
Awesome art! That mouse was already in the dark side for quite some time. 8)
Thanks P
Good one, Bearman!
Thanks Deb
This is awesome. Can I use this (with credit of course) at Japanese Ghost?
Sure.
Thank you. 🙂
Great Cartoon! It’s nice when you can be at the beginning of the wave. I’m glad that google plus is treating you right.
You need to join us more!
The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Mouse.
Tremendous job, Bearman!
I worked for the Mouse…Lucas sent me a ding letter. So serves him right.
Excellent and you did so well getting this out there too. Way to go.
Have a terrific day. 🙂
Thanks Sandee
Funny how this isn’t making as big of a stink as when the Mouse bought Marvel. At this point I think everyone just assumes it’s only a matter of time before Disney owns the damned planet!
Good then my 10 shares will make me a bazillionaire
I’m with Mickey, I’d rather have Disney adopt me, then let me wallow in continual rewrites and misdirected characters! Lets face it, every time George Lucas tinkered with the masterpiece, a little more of it died!
I’m on board!
I had no issues with the tinkering. Do I yell at you when you rework a comic strip? haha
Lucas loses to a mouse. Ha! Wait, Lucas lost to Jar Jar too. His record is getting worse each and every day.
But his income is going up!!!
Very nice! So Scrooge McDuck was able to get Mickey to turn I guess.
Money makes people do some things.
“No! That’s not true! That’s impossible!”
Mission Impossible was Paramount not Disney
I love this. Did not mean to be late, but I found this in the spam folder. Ugh. I am really beginning to hate Google.
Wow. This is awesome. Somehow I missed the post this weekend and I’m late gettin’ to the party but this is fantastic.
Thanks B
I missed this too. Good thing it is still here…
If you look at the people running Disney these days, you could say Pixar just bought Lucasfilms.
Which aint a bad thing
This is the best cartoon i have seen yet, about the merger!
Thanks rT
LOL! I would defiantly buy that one!
Was I selling it? haha
No it is my email thing. Because I use a yahoo mail account to send updates that doesn’t match beartoons.com it throws it into the spam filter
