Local residents in the small town of Bedrock are in an uproar over the shooting of Bamm Bamm Rubble. Bamm Bamm, the adopted son of Barney and Betty Rubble, was shot by Sgt. Boulder of Bedrock while peacefully walking towards the policeman and holding nothing more menacing than a turkey leg.

“It was cold blooded murder” cried Betty Rubble who lost her only son. “All Bamm Bamm was doing was was trying to offer Sgt. Boulder a bite from his turkey leg!”.

“I don’t quite understand this.” explained his father, Barney. “It’s not like he had a bag of candy or soda in his hand. For crying out loud, it was just a turkey leg!”

Local authorities have given the following statement regarding the shooting.

“This morning at 7:31 AM, Bedrock Standard Time, Sgt. Boulder was being approached by Bamm Bamm Rubble with what appeared to be a significant sized weapon. Sgt. Boulder attempted to warn Mr. Rubble to freeze but to no avail. Mr. Rubble continued in a threatening manner towards Sgt. Boulder while yelling the words “Bam Bam” in defiance of the officer’s direct order to freeze. As Mr. Rubble continued forward, Sgt. Boulder, who has been on our force with stellar credentials for 24 years, drew his weapon and, once again, ordered Mr. Rubble to freeze. Mr. Rubble defiantly disregarded this order and continued to advance toward Sgt. Boulder which left him with no choice. Sgt. Boulder has been questioned and released and is found to have complied completely within our code of ethics. There are no plans for further investigation at this point”

“Prehistoric profiling. This is nothing less than prehistoric profiling and neither I, nor Wilma will stand for this”, said Fred Flinstone, the Rubbles’ neighbor.

    • Bearman says:

      And Riddance.

      • Is that the correct way to spell it, Bearman? I would have went with riddens…

        Me so smart. 🙂

        • Bearman says:

          I am here to teach..haha

‘Riddance’ is now so completely associated with this little phrase that it is rarely, if ever, seen out alone. The only sort of riddance on offer these days is a good one. It wasn’t always thus. In the 16th century a riddance was a general-purpose noun and meant ‘deliverance from’ or ‘getting rid of’.

Thank Gawd, it was Bamm Bamm and not Dino !

  2. George says:

Oh Gawd! What about Pebbles and the baby?!

  3. Bo Lumpkin says:

A turkey leg can be an awesome weapon in the hands of the right person. Don’t ask me how I know this.

  4. Comedy Plus says:

Well he just never learned to listen did he? Bye bye!

    Good one Bearman.

    Have a terrific day. 🙂

  5. Sheila Deeth says:

Which proves that history repeats itself. Powerful bite to this tale, and not just turkey. Good one.

  6. lisleman says:

I’m on fence if the timing of this was in good taste. At least you didn’t put a hoodie on him. This tells me that the other story has gotten way too much coverage. “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” was one of my favorite animated films.

    • Bearman says:

This was in no way specific to other events going on at the time. We hear of this happening all too often. This is why squirt gun makers can’t make squirt guns that look like real guns anymore.

      • Tony McGurk says:

There was an incident here in Launceston some years ago where a kid in his late teens was shot by police, only wounded not killed, bacause he was apprehnded for a robbery & he pulled a replica gun on them. There was public outcry over it but the cops had no way of knowing it wasn’t real. Sometimes people have to accept consequences for their actions. This sort of thing really peeves me off when people act in a such a way, get what’s coming to them for their stupidity, then the police cop (no pun intended) all the flack from the media & public.
OK I’l get off my soapbox now…

  7. That drumstick could have had ecoli… that’s pretty dangerous!

  8. Tony McGurk says:

Who’da thought Bamm Bamm would’ve turned bad. He was always such a good kid.

  9. Binky says:

He was at very least a turkey murderer. How do they know it wasn’t a case of turkey revenge?

  10. Friggin Loon says:

Yabba Dabba Do. I guess skittles hadn’t been invented yet 🙁

  11. jb says:

Well I can see how him only being able to say bambam could be viewed ast a threat.

  12. James says:

Maybe if Barney sent his damn kid to school this never would have happened.

  13. G says:

Too bad it wasn’t Badrock Schelprock.

  14. Speak softly and carry a big turkey leg.
Oh, and wear a vest, too.
    🙂

  15. Haha great parody~!

  16. Jande says:

    Tsk! Such violence! >.>

Funny story, though,Bearman, even if it is true on many levels.Funny and yet very sad. Well done, Sir!

BTW, did you mean to obscure Fred Flintstone’s name with that slight mistake in spelling or is it simply a typo?

  17. DadaHyena says:

He had it coming. His parents encouraged his violent behavior, and let’s face it, a kid legally named “Bamm Bamm” is going to grow up to be a violent man.

  18. Chris K says:

    Bamm Bamm goes night night.

  19. Miss R says:

Bearman I’m still laughing! Not only is the cartoon alone pure comic perfection, but your write-up of the breaking ‘news’ cracked me up.
Hmmm is this the second celebrity death in the Celebrity Death Trifecta? Dick Clark yesterday…. hmmm I’m gonna keep my eye on you

  20. Nate Fakes says:

Bam-Bam always was annoying. Hate to see him shot, but eh – at least Pebbles can have her moment in the limelight now.

  21. Tyler says:

On the bright side, he lived a long life… Millions of years isn’t too shabby.

  22. Comedy Plus says:

Hi Bearman – I got the Monica funny from Dr. Vern B. and I never checked it out. I just thought it was funny. I changed it to show 40 and not 50. Thanks.

  23. jynksie says:

I know your making a political point with this comic, but I’m sorry, I cant stop laughing… you killed BAM-BAM and all he had was a chicken bone! ROTFLM-F-AO!

Also, shouldn’t this have been Pebbles line: “This morning at 7:31 AM, Bedrock Standard Time, PEBBLES was being approached by Bamm Bamm Rubble with what appeared to be a significant sized weapon. [smirk]

    • Bearman says:

Actually I wasn’t making any kind of statement except a humorous one. Dan made it a little political but that isn’t the genesis.

Don’t you remember the Fred and Wilma joke about Pebbles from being a kid?

  24. writerdood says:

Excellent Bearman! This made me laugh. Normally I don’t laugh at cartoons, but this one was really good. BAM! BAM! Bwaahahahah (that’s not what my laugh really sounds like though).
