Guest Cartoon: Zorphbert and Fred

Zorphbert and Fred

There are many cartoonists who I am jealous of for their talent.  One of them is Dawn Griffin of Zorphbert and Fred fame.  The depth that her cartoon has in mere gray scale is amazing and her line work is tops.

Well Dawn is getting married and she is going to be busy for a while so she created a guest registry for cartoonists to depict different wedding scenes.  She is starting at the bottom with mine on “Breaking the Glass”.  So go check it out and leave her many comments to show what I lack in talent I make up in a loyal fan base.

And keep checking back over the next month as you will see many other Bearmaniacs joining in the fun including Bo Lumpkin on Friday, Ken Drab, Todd McElmurry and Byron Wilkins.

    I’ll go see

  2. I am on my way to go check out her blog. It is always nice to find more good comics on the web. You are not a bad cartoonist your are just different. You should see my brothers comic. You might like it but it isn’t much. Just a cartoon about a country bumpkin named Lucas, who likes to distills liqueur, hates Hippies and Bumbly Bees.

Checked it out early Bearman. Good comic and the artwork was fantastic.

Hiya Bearman! Thanks a ton for your funny piece. Whomever came up with that tradition probably drank whatever was IN that glass 50x over. ;0)

I’ve heard two thoughts…one that it is the last thing you will break (ie vows) in your marriage. Other is a reminder of the fragileness of marriage.

    That’s gotta hurt 🙁

I found your site from Blunt Delivery. I love it. I’m going to poke around a little bit, but don’t worry I’ll put everything back where I found it!!

Ha! Went away laughing. And with a flesh wound. 🙂

    I looked but . . . er, I didn’t understand 😳

Guess I need to read up on North American wedding traditions

    • bearman says:

Are there no Jews in the UK? It’s a Jewish wedding tradition for the groom to stomp on a glass after the wedding. It is supposed to symbolize the fragileness of marriage or something like that.

  9. Wow, she really is great. My favorite new comic page comic of the new generation is Pearls but more for the cynical wit than the drawing. I was always curious about your opinions on comic page comics…?

  10. DadaHyena says:

BIG image size equals BIG pain.

…I’m going to have to use that.

  11. I think it is me that is the real alien. I saw those two spying on me.

  12. George says:

As always, these days, I’m late. Lemme go see what you’ve been up to, you enterprising rascal. 🙂

  13. George says:

Just wanted to let you know: You did a great job on your Z&F guest comic.
