Mickey Mouse and Roger Rabbit in the Stooge Remake by Bearman Cartoons

Rumors are afoot that Disney/Pixar are looking at remaking The Stooge, a movie made starring Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis in 1952.

the-stooge-movie-poster-1952-from Movie Poster Shop I am not a big watcher of old movies but there was a time in my life when I couldn’t get enough Jerry Lewis (I guess I have some French in me). So imagine my joy when I learned that one of my favorite animated characters, Roger Rabbit, was potentially going to play the Lewis role in a Disney/Pixar remake.

So imagine my delight in reading this blog post by Gary K. Wolf that the movie was in the works.  Gary Wolf wrote the book on Roger Rabbit.  No literally he did.   Back in 1981 he wrote “Who Censored Roger Rabbit” which came to the big screen as “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”

To this day it stands the test of time as the best movie ever to combine live action and animation.  Surprisingly with technology as advanced as it has over the last 2 decades, I am surprised no one has tackled the genre much since.

So I had to draw a preview of what I hope actually gets made.  Roger needs some new younger fans before Disney puts him out to pasture.

  • Disney buys Lucasfilm Cartoon

For those of you who follow me on Facebook, Google Plus or Twitter, you might have already seen this Cartoon meme I did of Mickey Mouse wearing a Darth Vader helmet saying “Luke I am your father now!”.   Yesterday it was announced that Disney was purchasing Lucasfilm (home of Star Wars) for $4 Billion.

Luckily for me I had a lunch break yesterday and was able to get on top of drawing this before all the other meme’s started their way around the internet.   I had a blistering 142 people share this on Google plus and a few on Twitter/FB as well.  Now if I could only get my normal cartoons to do so well.  Maybe I should just do cartoon meme’s from now on.
