F is for (Island) Fox.  The island fox can be found on the Channel Islands of California.  Isolated on the islands for several thousand years has made the fox more vulnerable to mainland disease that cause no issues with domesticated dogs.  Of the eight species of Island Fox, four have been put on the endangered species list. E is for Echidna.  Continuing to cartoon for the Animal Alphabets.  Several weeks behind.  Echidnas are somewhat of a cross between a hedgehog and an anteater.  Thus the big nose and spikes.  But for me every time I think of the word I get hungry.  Enchiladas anyone?

D is for Dugong.  Animal Alphabets continues with the Dugong.  Those in the U.S. who are familiar with the manatee will recognize the similarities with the Dugong.  The Dugong is found closer to Australia.

Mostly herbivore they tend to seek seagrass and using their flexible upper lip they can dig out the plants whole.  Thus my reference in the cartoon to King Titon (or Neptune) using the Dugong as an ocean floor vacuum.

Just a quick drawing of the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland.  I found a group of illustrators on twitter that follow the twitter handle @animalalphabets who posts a weekly challenge to draw a different animal character each week.  They start with the letter A and work their way down to Z.  This week’s challenge was W so they picked the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland.  Of course I was supposed to post earlier but like the rabbit, I’m Late, I’m Late!!!

Check out the hastag #animalalphabets on twitter to see some amazing talent. h/t to @jonesparza for letting me know about the group.
