I have to be honest with today’s cartoon. I have never been into Shark Week on Discovery Channel. Sure I have watched some of the programs but after a while they all seem the same. Yet the ratings each year are great so they keep rolling it in year after year.
For those who don’t understand what a “Shart” is (as many of my wife’s friends seem not to), it is not quite a shit and not quit a fart..thus shart. It has also been described as a “wet fart”. Now in real life if I came across a shark, I would probably full blown crap myself.
How about you. Anyone into Shark Week? Any animal you are more afraid of than others?
I’ve never been an avid follower of Shark Week (although I wouldn’t mind seeing Sharknado, though). I guess I would be more afraid of sharks if I dallied in open water more, but that’s something I don’t do, so…..
And, for some reason, whenever I think of Shark Week, it reminds me of revenge-killer/psycho Chris Dorner manifesto where he casually (insanely) mentions that one of the things he regrets about his previous rampage, is that he was gonna miss Shark Week this year.
Yeah…crazy, I know.

I love sharks. I had one for a while. I quit watching shark week about 8 years before I stopped watching television altogether. I can hardly believe it is still on the air.
I am not afraid of animals… even the six-legged kind. I do stay away from the spiders to which I am allergic, but other than that, the sky is the limit.
What about rats?
Sharks are fascinating creatures, but I’ve never been one to plunk myself down and watch an entire week of programming around them. Unless there was a JAWS marathon.
Even though I’m not a Shark Week follower, I was disappointed to hear about their kick-off this year. Shark Week was always lauded for correcting misinformation and focusing on the fascinating and often little-explored aspects of sharks. But this year they decided to lead with a fictionalized “mockumentary” about discovering living examples of a long-extinct “monster shark,” all without clearly labeling the work as fiction. That’s not cool.
You actually enjoy watching beyond the first JAWS? haha

Watching a Shark Week show right now…first time in a couple of years I sit through one of these shows. After 2 shows they all look/sound the same.
But I digress.
I would totally get in a shark cage and swim with Great White sharks!
Cockroaches? Now that’s one scary/ugly/disgusting creature I want nothing to do with!!!
We had roaches growing up for a couple years that we battled. Then I could care less…now I would scream like a girl.
Sadly…I’ve never watched shark week ;/. But when I do see a program about them, I’ve come to understand they are not “bad”. And I’m not saying I want to see one in the ocean by the way. I love nature programs, so I just respect them. I guess I would freak out if I came face to face with a venomous snake.
The key is knowing whether it is venomous or not
I’ve never watched much of shark week, even in the past when Discovery Channel was airing real documentaries. It’s too bad those channels have all gone reality-TV mad.

But rumors are out that he is a little devil.
Western Australia has the highest rate of fatal shark attacks in the world. The most scariest one was in Margaret River, where one shark came up from directly underneath to bump a surfer off his board and then another one ate him. They were team friggin working. Sometimes the Great White will spot a swimmer in the shallows and ride a wave in to grab them,. Shart, fart AND shit 😯
I think it is time for you to move.
That’s a lot of underwear to wash Loon, maybe it is time for everyone to start sand boarding instead, it’s a lot safer and unless you happen to bump into a donkey it is absolutely Shart proof 🙂 lmao

I know what you mean about all seeming the same. It’s a bit the same with all the African Lion/Elephant/ Rhino etc shows. Becomes a bit of a “seen one you’ve seen them all” thing
Your cartoon reminds me of a joke where a shark is teaching his son how to attack & eat swimming humans. He starts by slowly circling & circling & circling & circling & circling…
Junior shark asks his Dad. Why all the circling dad? Why not just race in & chomp them straight away. The Papa shark replies “They taste better if you scare the crap out of them first”
Same with Lobster. I had a whole lobster that I cracked open and all the crap came out. I wouldn’t eat it and have stuck to lobster tails since when I get that craving once a year.

No shark week in Germany. Kind of an odd thing to name a week after. How insensitive is it to the .00008% of the population who have been attacked by sharks? 😉
I haven’t been bitten by a shark but I have been bitten by a mosquito. Yeah I know, not as big but hey, a bite is a bite right. I think it would be safe to say that more people get bitten by mosquitos than by sharks. Those are some pretty horrendous statistics. Thank god they don’t have a mosquito week. I don’t think I could stand to relive the trauma. Now I’m all jittery from just talking about the whole terrifying experience

I love programs of sharks. However, I’m not used to watching the Discovery Channel so I miss shark week every year. The thought of sharks makes me very uncomfortable in the water. But I still enjoy the Jaws movies!
All of them…even the 3D version?
Well, the 3-D version wasn’t my favorite but it was a lot better than the 4th one. 😉

The fourth was god awful. (Jaws The Revenge) I don’t even think I watched it more than seven times.
The mother came back from the original two. But the best part was, they pretended the third movie never happened. 😉

As would I! I watched some of the shark week coverage this year because it’s been many years since I last watched & you are right – after about 4 shows I was seeing all the same experts talking about many of the same things.
There are only so many ways to describe their eating and mating habits haha

I’m so afraid of sharks. I never swim far from the shore. First of all because I don’t see anything without my glasses or my contact lenses. And also because I’m sure I wouldn’t be able to swim very fast if a shark decided to eat me. I’d be paralyzed by fear. Soooo…
I’m very scared of snakes also. But I think this phobia is worse since I cannot even look at a picture of a snake.
Just don’t swim in a swamp…there are snakes in there.
I really wish I would’ve seen a shark while living in Florida. Never did, or I would’ve had this kind of experience.

i saw the best comercial for shark week. the one where they are releacing the seal back in the ocean. i love when the shark jumps up and eats the seal.
I saw that on YouTube…..guess that particular seal was better off in captivity
