DC Comics – We Can Be Heroes

DC Entertainment (aka DC Comics) has decided to step up for aid to Africa with their We Can Be Heroes Campaign.  Essentially they are putting the Justice League Superheroes (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc.) up front to drive awareness and raise money for famine relief in the Horn of Africa.

Better still they are matching funding dollar for dollar for the first $1 million.

And while this isn’t time for my typical charity drive, I am doing a special one off this week on Google Plus.  For those on Google Plus who want to help, click here to see my post there, and then share it.  For every share of that post I get this week, I’ll donate $1 up to $500 total.

Maybe Super Broccoli Man could fly over there & help too??? Good on you for your generosity Bearman. I was really touched by the man that fell down on the ground to help the lady up.

  2. DadaHyena says:

Bearman could TOTALLY lead the Justice League!

  3. duncanr says:

Good on you, bearman – have shared !

  4. James says:

You’re like Batman but with green hair. I guess you’re more like the Joker but not as crazy.

  5. Friggin Loon says:

    Done. Now cough up Bearman!!!

  6. Nate Fakes says:

Shared. (Well, as soon as I’m done typing this comment, that is.)

  7. That’s awesome Bearman!
Am I going to have to cave and look into this whole circle thing?!
    It might happen some day…
    maybe…
    🙂

Controversy just loves to find you no matter how kind or altruistic you’re being. Hopefully it will attract attention to the positive aspect of what you have going on.

Personally, you can donate YOUR money any way you seem fit. If I don’t wanna participate or help, then i just don’t. There’s no need for me to complain or say you’re in the wrong.

I was truly amazed at how that G+ thread turned sour so quickly. I will support you however you like or need. You do more good for the world than I, so I could never be mad at ya for that. 🙂

    • Bearman says:

It amazes me that some people are so vocal that others should spend their money the way they seem to want it spent. When you start paying MY bills, you can start telling me how to spend my money is how I want to react.

      • George says:

And you do a lot of different things. Just because you’re doing this right now doesn’t mean you’re against any other forms of charity. It’s like if I donated towards Testicular Cancer. Does that mean I’ve got some grudge against Breast Cancer? Not at all.

Continue to do what you want with your moola. My choice is to either help you or ignore you. It’s not to tell you what you SHOULD be spending on.

However if you’re taking suggestions as to how to spend your money, I will admit that I look very sultry and handsome while using a free iPad that someone can give me as a gift. 😀

  9. MJ says:

Bravo to you for being engaged in great causes.

  10. Bo Lumpkin says:

You do good work Bearman. I have got to get back over there and share and I really have to see what George is talkin about. I like a good skirmish as long as I ain’t in it. I might just jump in on this one though.

  11. Miss R says:

Good on ‘ya Bearman. Off to Google +.
I too am interested to see what kind of cretin would oppose any personal decision on a charity request.

  12. Miss R says:

oh dear god just read the Goggle thread. All I can say is… HEY LOOSER! hahahaha whadda maroon that guy is -face palm-

  13. MC/Curtis says:

What about Aquaman?! All this Aquaman hating has got to stop.

  14. Mark Stokes says:

This is very admirable of you Bearman, more power to ya! I would like to support your cause, but I’m not a Google+er. Is there anything I can do to contribute?

  15. Goeber.com says:

Great video. I like the part where the girl said she should have done something.

  16. Binky says:

    Google plus what?

  17. That is really cool of DC to do that. I will definitely donate.
