Cartoonists Needed around the Web
Our good friend George of Addanac City is looking for guest cartoonists to run in June. Bastard beat out my own request by 5 days. Look for my request on Sunday or Monday to coincide with thd 2010 version of the Bearman Charity Challenge.
And speaking of Charity I got word of another cartoonist looking for help raising money for charity as well. Yamino of Sister Claire, is trying to get as many cartoonists to submit a series of 10 limited edition postcards of their characters to auction off for charity.
Finally Byron is taking an extended Spring Break from 1977 the comic and also is looking for Guest Strips to fill the void.
Guess Who 2
Today’s another edition of Guess Who. Not as well known as our first Guess Who celeb but if you watch cable news, she is all over it.
BTW…last post for the week as I am taking the weekend off.
Bearman Cartoon: Ben Ruthless-Burger
American football star Ben Roethlisberger has seen better days. From leading the Pittsburgh Steeler to two Super Bowl wins to now being suspended for 6 games for violating the NFL’s code of conduct. When Ben came into the league as a rookie he quickly became the savior for a much suffering Steeler’s franchise. Fans referred to him as “Big Ben” and restaurants began selling the Roethlis-BURGER.
Now, for the second time in his career, there come allegations of a sexual assault. I won’t say whether I believe he is guilty or not. However, it is interesting that there were trade rumors so you have to wonder what the Steelers organization knows that they aren’t talking about that would want them to trade a proven leader on the field.
And if you think that I am just parodying a Pittsburgh player because it is a long time rival of my own Cincinnati Bengals, it is not true. When Chris Henry was having his issues with bar fights and other drinking issues, I told many people it doesn’t matter whether he feels he is wrongfully accused or doesn’t start the problems. You make enough money, keep yourself away from situations that might cause yourself problems. Unfortunately, now someone who people had admired, has left a bad taste in the mouth of many who used to be a fan.
