Bearman Charity Drive Update 3

ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT

Here is another weeks tally for the Charity Challenge. The Charity Challenge, for the uninformed allows you to do things like blogroll me, follow me on twitter, tweet about the challenge or post a blog about it. Details here. Any of those activities would raise money for the local FreeStore Foodbank to help those in need.

Here is a list of all the activity that was generated in the last week thanks to your efforts. Please let me know if I missed anyone on this list. I know there have been several people who have added me to their Twitter accounts but haven’t updated me here so please do so I can give you credit.

Link to Me and I will Drive Traffic to your Site

At least that is the intent of a website called alphainventions.com. It came to my attention about 5 months when a few of my posts got 20-30 clicks from this site.

According to the creator this is how it works:

If you update or publish your blog at the same time my visitors are browsing blogs in my site then my visitors will get a chance to see your blog in real-time. BAM! (the entire blog is in their face instantly) It’s not even annoying to watch. Is it alpha addicts??

I also provide a link to your blog in case they want it to open your blog in a new window, or bookmark your blog . The links provides your title, and description to help my visitors get a better understanding on what your blog is about, and get more interested. Alphainventions.com is useful for wordpress.com , typepad.com, spaces.live.com, and blogger.com I love it, and want to grow it like a tree. Yahh!

To get more traffic from alphainventions.com just keep your blog updated or go to the homepage, and notify readers about your blog. It’s so simple.

So being the good web citizen I am, I added it to my blog roll figuring anyone that is sending me 20-30 readers should get prominence. Plus I see other bloggers highlighting it.

Well I haven’t had a single click from it since. Now I don’t fault the creator of it. I think he had the best intentions when he created it. But it became like a Kentucky Grilled Chicken promotion where too many people respond and you can’t figure out how to control demand.

So…the blog link is now gone. The good news is, as I promised in the title, if you link to ME, I will drive traffic to your site. The bad news is, I will be the only one visiting.

Bearman Cartoon: Chaz Bono

Usually the kids of stars are brats or feel self entitled. Never really got that image from Chastity Bono over the years. And if anyone ever watched Celebrity Fit Club, you would know that Chastity was the most sane and emotionally stable person on the show. (OK…I know that isn’t saying much on that show)

Now that Chaz is looking at surgical gender reassignment I couldn’t help but think of another possible benefit given all the anti-gay marriage proposals around the country.

Bearman Cartoon: Iran Recount

So the Iranian High Pooba has announced that there will be “limited” recount of the votes.  What exactly does that mean?  Well Jeff Jena thinks he has some answers.  Jeff is not only a funny working comedian but a sometimes right-wing conspiracy purveyor and asked me to collaborate with one of my editorial cartoons on an article he was doing for Big Hollywood.

Big Hollywood is a site created by Andrew Breitbart, a former Drudge Report editor.  The site is a collaboration of right leaning people in Hollywood and the issues they face.

As I typically do with guest cartoons that I draw, here is the link to check out the article.  In a few days, I’ll post it here as well.
